A Quilt For Miss Moo!!!

The hand sewing of the binding was finished last night and here is Miss Moo's quilt........

The light here is awful's just a small quilt for her to drag around with her while she is playing. She can sit on it to look at her books, play picnics with Daisy, Eguy and Pippa...her dolls or just lie on it and contemplate her
This time I have used a zig zag stitch to do the quilting and I love it. I used pale pink thread and it just goes so well with the funky fabric.

This morning I have made a hot water bottle cover. It's not brilliant and I doubt I will ever make another one. It's made from fleece.....I won't be sewing that again and I have done my first ever applique.....lots of practice needed on that particular technique I think.
Still it will stop me burning myself.

Now I am twiddling my thumbs. I don't have another project planned for the moment so I think probably a tidy up  and another hoover. Then I'll give the machine a clean and have a look through my patterns to see if there is anything that takes my fancy.
I would like to make a Lone Star wall hanging following an easy tutorial from Jordan Fabrics but it would be for DD's room and I would need to buy some fabrics in specific colours to match her room. That will have to wait then until I can get to a fabric shop.

Feeling the need to get out of the house so I think DD and I will go out for tea tonight. We haven't done that for a while.
I could wait until the weekend when Andy and I are going to the races at Uttoxeter Race of his Christmas gifts from The Doodles......but I am feeling stir crazy now.

Very cold here with a spiteful little wind that seems to be getting through a crack somewhere and creating a draught. The heating will be going on soon so hopefully I shall warm up a bit then.

Hope you are all having a good day.

  1. Lovely quilt Sheila, there will be one happy little girl I am sure. My grands love a new quilt over a new toy (thank goodness). It is a wet and cold windy day here as well. Still it is warm in the sewing room and my lunch was very warming too.

  2. Beautiful quilt. I'm so envious of you quilting ladies! Dinner out sounds lovely.

  3. The quilt is so sweet. I love those pretty fabrics. X

  4. Lovely work, Sheila. The colours are so gentle. Catriona

  5. Love the quilt Sheila, such beautiful fabric and made with love, what could be better.

  6. the little quilt is very cute. I love applique more than anything else!

  7. Beautiful quilt for the baby. She will love it.

  8. The quilt is beautiful Sheila. I'm always glad to finish a project but give it a couple of days at most and I'm itching to start another. xx

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a message.
It is much appreciated.
