Today we have thick cloud cover holding in the heat and not promising any rain. I feel drained.
Still the jobs need to get done. Thankfully the laundry basket isn't too full this week. Most of it is DD's work t shirts as she is changing them every day.
She is enjoying a break from being outside as she worked yesterday and is home today.
No sewing for me this afternoon as she has me booked for an afternoon of watching something....I don't know what....I would rather be sewing but then spending some quality time with my girl is more important.
Did you all manage to keep cool over the weekend?
We were going to go up to Carsington but then I decided I couldn't cope with a ride in a hot car so we stayed home and melted here instead and got through quite a few ice lollies.

It's a little bit cloudy here today and also a bit cooler but it doesn't look like rain. I find myself putting housework on the back burner for now and spending time with Amy watching TV or just chatting. At times I could do with getting on but you're right, quality time with the kids is important. It's not always a two way street here though lol. If they're otherwise engaged when I want them to do something they have no qualms in telling me so. Have a lovely day. xx
ReplyDeleteThe sun is back today but it is a cooler than it was although not for long apparently.
DeleteEnjoyed my day with Roz yesterday and she really enjoyed having a lazy day watching day time tv.

Same here Shelia, little cooler but no much needed rain, enjoy your afternoon. x
ReplyDeleteHad a lovely afternoon Marlene....very lazy so it's back to being busy today.

Bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds here, and searing heat. I had the dogs walked and back before 7 this morning, it seems to be getting hotter daily. I have been sewing all morning but the sun is in the front now so it is sofa surfing for a while.
ReplyDeleteSpent much of the day on the sofa yesterday Pam but it was nice to take a break.
DeleteBack to the sewing today.

Hello Shelia,
ReplyDeleteI understand the drained feeling. I have never got used to the hot summer where I now live! Is it the British thing? We do have central air conditioning so that helps but it does come at considerable cost, still call me odd but I'd rather pay for cooling than heat. You can always put on more clothes but only so much you can take off.
Enjoy reading your blog.
Sandy
Hiya Sandy nice to hear from you.
DeleteYes I am more uncomfortable with the heat than I am with the cold so I would love to have air conditioning.

We stayed close to home this weekend too. There's no point trailing around in the car if it's not necessary. It's overcast here today but there's still no rain forecast. I'll need to keep watering the veggies. X
ReplyDeleteOn a good day Carsington is only half an hour away but the road we travel leads to Dovedale, Ashbourne and the Peak District so it can get very busy and I didn't fancy sitting in heavy traffic.

It clouded over a bit yesterday afternoon and according to Carol it's going to be a bit cooler today - perfect for loading up the van reading for an early start in the morning.
ReplyDeleteThe glass roofed market hall in Stockport where we traded on Sunday was very hot - perfect for me but the old ladies who sell there were wilting. I had to keep popping over and checking they were okay! x
You must be a proper hot house flower then Vix. I used to work in a garden centre which was basically a huge greenhouse and I would be just about crawling round on my knees in this heat.
DeleteHope you had a good day in Stockport.

Cloud has arrived here today...and a cooling breeze too. I don't like being indoors when the weather is lovely but today won't bother me too much...will be able to do some work with Wimbledon on. x
ReplyDeleteNice to have a short break from the heat. Last night was bliss with a really cold breeze.
DeleteEnjoy your Wimbledon.
