I've done quite well coping with the heat so far....until yesterday when my eyes went all wobbly and the headache from hell started and that was me down and out for a couple of hours or so until the painkillers kicked in.
It still hasn't totally gone but I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday.
Quite chuffed with meself today. Andy wanted something padded to put on the arms of his chair as he finds the bare wood uncomfortable. I set to and made some wrap around covers for him that can be taken off and washed.
So that's a cushion for his head and covers for the arms I've made....I don't know why he didn't just buy a comfortable chair in the first place. Ruddy men!!!
Since I finished those I can't say I have really done much. It's just too hot to be bothered with anything. I don't fancy watching tv tonight so I might just fetch my book down and sit by the fan for a while.
Are you doing anything nice this weekend?

Full of cold caught from the grandson, so fan on and a spot of crochet for me. Hope your head clears up completely xx
ReplyDeleteOh no Cheryl....not a summer cold. I think they are worse than winter colds.
DeleteTake care and get better soon.

Hope you feel better soon, Sheila.
ReplyDeleteToday I've helped Jon trim our 100 metre hedge and then been glued to the footie all day. Tomorrow the alarm's set for 5am as I'm working! x
It's nearly gone now Vix....thanks.
DeleteShocked that I watched some of the match today. Very proud of our team.
5am.....oh good grief. Well I hope you are working somewhere that you can enjoy the sun.

By 3:30 yesterday afternoon the sun was full on the Flying Goose windows. The temperature rose alarmingly and by 4:00 I had to close. I was on the point of heatstroke and the street was empty. The drive home was very unpleasant with a stretch of road where the tarmac was liquid. I hope that you are better today.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds awful Pam...particularly the liquid roads.
DeleteMuch better today although I don't know what I shall be like by the time the kids outside have finished sreaming like they are being murdered. I love the sound of kids playing but the screaming is so annoying.

Glad your headache from hell has gone today Sheila. My chores were finished by midday today so I've been doing papercraft sitting in front of the fan but I'm still roasting xx
ReplyDeleteSewing in front of the fan here and still roasting too.
DeleteNearly 9pm and it's still 27.5C and very muggy.
