Beauty With Teeth!!!

The view from the window this morning is just gorgeous.
It's bright and sunny and there are lots of birds visiting the feeders including Mr Bully Boy.....the jumbo jet sized magpie who scares all the little birds.
Walk out of the door though and that beauty has has the iciest coldest teeth and as I am in and out to the dryer today I doubt I shall get warm until I have finished the laundry.

I was going to go out for a wander with Andy this morning but I am so determined to sew tomorrow that I decided to stay here and work my way through some jobs that would normally be done on a Monday. I have also planned a quick and easy meal just to maximise the free time.

DD is at work today so lunch will be late but shortly the oven will go on and the house will fill with the smell of roasting lamb. I always say that I would prefer to have simpler meals on a Sunday but once the meat starts roasting I am won over.

With Game Of Thrones finished for the time being I had to find something for Andy and I to watch last night and chose his trilogy of Thor films. I really quite enjoyed the two we watched so we'll watch the last one tonight after Dancing on Ice and Call The Midwife.
I am on the hunt for another box set that DD and I can get our teeth into. We like things like Vikings and Rome so if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

Have a lovely Sunday.

  1. Thank you for your warm welcome Sheila, I really feel one of the gang now.
A little about me. My husband and I were born in the south of England (Surrey and Sussex) and we emigrated to Western Australia in 1979 with two young sons, both married with children of their own now. We are Australians but we will always be English in our hearts.
We have recently had old friends from Aldershot in Hampshire visiting us and they are due to land back at Heathrow at 3pm your time. Looking at the weather there at the moments we are concerned their lift won’t be able to get through the snow. We just hope that if that is the case they can book into an hotel at the airport until the weather improves. Snow is lovely - on a Christmas card.
Keep warm and enjoy that lovely roast lamb. Mint sauce too I hope. xx

    1. Hi Marilyn
Sounds like you love your life in Australia. I'm not surprised. Sometimes I watch a programme here called Wanted Down Under and it gives quite an insight into all areas of emigrating and I often wish that was something Andy and I had looked into.
Still no snow here in our corner of Staffordshire in fact today is just like an early Spring day with sunshine, a light breeze and slightly damp underfoot.
The lamb was gorgeous and yes there was mint sauce.

    1. I couldn't get warm on Saturday night but last night I was boiling all night and the duvet spent more time off than on.

  3. The weather has turned damp and grey here but it's still very cold.
I have housework that needs to be done but I cannot summon up any enthusiasm just yet. Maybe one more cup of tea.
    Keep warm Sheila. X

  4. You might enjoy the boxed DVD set of "Cadfael" or the ponderous (IMHO) "I Claudius".

    Wishing you well!

    1. I remember watching "I Claudius" when it was on TV years ago and I found it rather ponderous too. Cadfael I did see but I'm thinking that might be something DD would enjoy. Thanks for reminding me of it.

    1. I'm too scared to go out when the Magpies visit Marlene. They are just so flippin' huge.
Vikings is absolutely awesome. I hope you enjoy it.

  6. A bright sunny day today, but cold. Hope you managed to get all your jobs done. Roast lamb sounds delicious.

    1. That bright sun is quite deceiving and you think it will be warm until you step outside.
Most jobs done and the lamb was beautiful.

  7. After several days last week of single digit temperatures here in New England, USA, tomorrow it's expected to be mid fifties. We can always count on dramatic weather changes here in the Northeast. Haven't had lamb in a long time -- sounds delicious!

  8. That Mumbai rot keeps appearing in my comments, I spam it but it keeps squirming through. It has turned wet and warmer here but the wind from the mountains still has teeth. I will be found in the warm, knitting or sewing, with some baking in the mix, Oh and a little bit of housework.

    1. Same here Pam...I'm sick of it. I also have some lunatic posting stupid stuff on really old posts too. I keep deleting it. Maybe one day they will take the hint.
      Enjoy your day.
