Anniversary Toppers!!!

Hi there
Here is one of the toppers I have been working on this week for anniversary cards.
I have killed two birds with one stone by making these.......used up a small stash of assorted handmade paper that I have had for years and am no longer fond of and having made ten of them it has given me a good stash of cards for the local shop.
I have put five together as cards and the others I shall keep hold of as there are bound to be special orders for them with special dates etc wanted on them.

Short post today.......it's been a bit quiet at the shop due to the weather so I got my prep done for the class in the morning which freed me up to do some tidying in my room. Pretty boring stuff....lol!!!

Think I'll play a game on the computer for a while and then get off to bed.
Thanks for dropping by.

Hiding The Grey!!!

Sorry I don't have a card for you tonight but I have spent the evening being pampered by DD. She has trimmed my hair and coloured it for me as it was long overdue for both. So I am now all bright and shiny again.
I will be back on track tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by.

Snowfall!!!

Back to work tomorrow and once again I don't seem to have had anywhere near enough time to get all the stamping and cards done that I wanted to. Still, there was time enough to get this card sorted out for the class tomorrow.
This is Shrink Plastic which is something I can take or leave but I don't mind a dabble now and again.
The stamps are from Inkadinkado again........sorry but I have about thirty of their sets.....lol!!!
I used StazOn Azure onto clear unsanded SP and let it dry for a couple of minutes before cutting out.
The snow drift was stamped in Winter Wonderland onto blue pearl card for a lovely crisp snowy feel and then other texture was added with gems and Frosted Lace Stickles.
The side panel is stamped and embossed with the same powder then I went over the whole panel with Versamark and lightly sprinkled EP and reheated for a blizzard effect. I may add ribbon and a greeting tag to this panel once it is fully dry as it is for a class but for myself I would put a greeting inside rather than out.

Off for a bath and a read before I go and pack my bag for work.
Thanks for dropping by.

Another Vintage Post Today!!!

Today's post is over at my other blog..........HERE

The garden centre was a bit wet and windy this morning but hubby got his tree. He chose a beautiful blue pine.
I had a wander around Hobby Craft for a few minutes and then as the weather was so horrible we decided to make for home and have dinner earlier than planned.
On the way back we stopped at Tesco and I needed to go in and pick up a couple of things. Found myself in the baby clothes department drooling over tiny shoes and teeny tiny t shirts....lol!!!
This afternoon I have been doing hand made embellishments for some anniversary cards and now I am off to watch a film with DD as hubby has gone off to bed.
Thanks for your visit today.

Wassail!!!

Another card to add to the 'quick and easy' pile for workshops.
Paper is Basic Grey Wassail and I think this particular design is called Sleigh Ride...sorry forgot to check. I used the reverse to stamp the image from a set of Inkadinkado stamps and it is just very simply embossed in gold.
Added some lace and ribbon along with a punched Poinsettia.

Not been up in my room much for the last couple of days as I started with a migraine yesterday afternoon......after not having one for several weeks. It's still lurking now but is much better than it was.
DD and DIL came for their tea tonight so most of today was spent flicking a duster about and cooking.
We've seen another scan photo of our baby Bean and I am getting quite excited although we have a long way to go yet.....lol!!!
Later today (Sunday) I will be off to the garden centre at Bridgemere with hubby. We ended up buying him a gift voucher for Father's Day so he is going to chose a tree.
Hopefully after that I will be able to get something done.

Thanks for your visit.
Bye for now.

Frosty The Snowman!!!

Love, love, love this snowman stamp by Inkadinkado.
Here he has been stamped using a clear EP resist and washed over with Adirondack Stream.
The background is Stream ink again and has been distressed with a sanding block.
The pale snowflakes are stamped using Versamark and then dabbed lightly with a matching chalk.
Stronger snowflakes are stamped in Stream.
Added a bit of glitz with some Frosted Lace Stickles which sucked up some of the ink and turned it the most gorgeous colour.

I'm absolutely shattered now. It was very busy at the shop today. I did a class this morning with some new ladies and my ribs are still aching from laughing. Didn't get time to do my prep for tomorrow so that had to come home with me as I needed to design the cards as well as cut up the stuff. It's taken me five hours and my eyes feel like they are dropping out.
So I am off for a nice bath and a quick read before bedtime.......after I have packed up my bag ready for morning.
Thanks for dropping by.

Home!!!

I had forgotten all about this front door die I had and found it in a box when I was looking for something else. So I used it for this very simple New Home card.
The door is cut from glossy black card and has an acetate window. I did do one in red but it looked a bit like a Christmas card with something missing so I binned that one.....lol!!!

Well I was back at work today and although my job is not what you would call strenuous I am absolutely shattered. That could be due to the fact that I wore myself out looking at all the new stuff that came in while I was away........in particular the Graphic 45 papers and tag sheets that arrived on our back order. Oh boy are they yummy or what. Deb gave me a couple of sheets as samples and I said to her that I wished they would do a Christmas collection. Well blow me they have done.......and very nice it is too but I like the Domestic Goddess collection best out of the three new ones.
As you can imagine I have a bit of a pile going on in the 'save for Sheila' corner.......lol!!!

Anyway I am off to play. I have a couple of orders in one for a Christening card which won't take long and then I have one which I am really going to enjoy doing......the brief is 1950's/60's, records, shoes and dresses in pink and black for a fortieth birthday.

Thanks for dropping by.

Black & White!!!

With a touch of lime.
Been digging in my little stash of images that are printed from my computer and found this gorgeous image from Cora at Clearly Vintage
The spotty Bazzill just happened to be lying on the desk as did the Nestabilities shapes.
Had to hunt a bit for a black flower as I am rather short of them but found one lurking at the bottom of the jar. The green flowers are lime although they look a bit like mushy pea green in the photo.......lol!!!

Not had time to make any new cards yet today as I have been wallpapering all day. I feel proper grubby so I think I'll have a shower and then go up to my room and have a play.
Taking the day off from decorating tomorrow as it is the last day of my holiday. I'm going to be lazy all day.

Hope the rain hasn't spoiled your weekend.
Bye for now

Retro Home Card!!!

Gawd I ache all over after all that wallpapering today. I've been doing all of the awkward bits so that tomorrow should be plain sailing.......ha ha ha....this is Manic Towers........nothing is ever plain sailing.....but we'll see.......lol!!!
Anyhoo here is one of the cards I made yesterday. I just love these colours together.
The image is a Vintage Workshop download. Paper is from the Clare Curd stack.
There is a vintage card today at my other blog HERE

Look at this cute fella waiting for his Daddy to come home. I swear he can tell the time because when hubby is due in at around 2:10pm he goes to the window to look for him and stays there until the car pulls onto the yard. Once he spots the car he belts down the stairs and out the back door and nearly eats his Daddy. Then he saunters back upstairs and looks at me as if to say 'yeah.....I know it's not very manly.....but I love my Dad'.........lol!!!
I've just realised that it looks as if he is plugged in to something......lol......it's the power cable for my Cricut lying on the ledge.

Another busy day wallpapering tomorrow. I think the worst is done actually as the top staircase is now finished and that is where all the fiddliest bits were.
DD and I have been discussing colours and have changed our minds about fifty times. Still not settled on anything since I decided against my original choice of a colour called Life which is a beautiful green. I now think it will be too dark as there is very little natural light on both flights of stairs or the landing. Got a bit to go though before we have to make our minds up.

Off to relax for a bit now.
Catch you later.

Cosmo Again!!!

Another card made with my Cosmo kit.........except for the greenish background paper which is Costco as I can't bear to use the plain side of the patterned papers........lol......even though the colours are gorgeous.
All the embellishments are from the kit except for the pearls.
The photo corners looked a little lost as photo corners so I have used them to create a decorative piece down the sides.

I actually got some vintage cards done today. Just need to take the pics so they will be for tomorrows post.

Thank goodness I have recovered from the bloomin' abscess. I have a morbid fear of dentists and despite suffering quite regularly I just can't set foot in a dental surgery.
Luckily I had a few hints on how to treat the problem from a friend who is a dental hygienist and it does work.
So I am all set now to finish the flamin' decorating. I've never known a job take so long and I shall be glad when it's done. Then the battle starts to get a new carpet and a couple of pieces of furniture and maybe a mirror and a couple of new light fittings out of hubby........ooooooh there'll be blood and teeth flying........lol!!!

Well I am back off upstairs for an hour or so. I am in the mood for a bit of alcohol inking I think.
See you tomorrow.

I 'Heart' Cosmo!!!

A couple of cards I made with the Cosmo Cricket kit I got for my birthday in April. I just adore the papers and if they were fabrics I would definitely make myself some clothes from them.
Both cards use chipboard pieces from the kit and are embellished with self adhesive pearls.

Been feeling very sorry for myself today with this abcess but touch wood I think I may have seen it off with hot salt washes and the hot water bottle as it isn't hurting quite so much at the moment.
I have spent the day sorting out all of my 12x12 papers. Some I have cut up ready to use on cards and others went in the 'what was I thinking' pile. Someone will love them even if I don't so I may bag them up along with some other excess stuff and do a car boot sale.

I'm going to curl up on the sofa with DD later and watch a film. Last night we watched Queen Victoria which I thought was quite good and I fancy watching Miss Potter tonight.......something gentle and soothing.

Think I'll go and have a bath and get into my PJ's.
Thanks for your visit.

Sporty Kids.....and Face Ache!!!

Two more kids cards. These are the two sporty images from the collection.....which I forgot to say is called Kid Power.
I am nursing an aching face today. Think I have an abcess in my jaw again and it flippin' well hurts. Still I'll soon get rid of it with my hottie and some salt water.
Short and sweet today.
Thanks for dropping by.

Kids Cards....I Must Be Going Mad!!!

Well what a lazy weekend I have had........most unusual for me.
Saturday I got up and did a bit of flicking with a duster and then strolled into the kitchen to rustle up a treat for the hungry pair that live on the sofa. I was well chuffed with the pork stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon which I served with a home made tomato sauce, green beans and garlic roast potatoes. Got the thumbs up from them too so the Domestic Goddess was in da house..........lol!!!
Sunday......OMG........I didn't get out of bed until 11am but boy did I feel great after a good lie in. Although I must admit that I hadn't gone to bed until 3am.
Anyway hubby cooked so I spent most of the day upstairs as I am desperately in need of cards for the local shop. I just can't keep up with them since I changed from making batches of the same cards to more individual designs. They just fly out.
Decided to make some kids cards and for these I have used images from PC Crafter and paper from K & Co. Can't believe how well they go together.
The images are layered as they looked a bit boring flat.
Used a few brads from my humungous collection for a bit more detail and yes I am quite happy with them.
DD is just about to go and deliver and then we are off out to do the shopping......oh how exciting......lol!!!
Thanks for dropping by today.

Got Me Some Inky Fingers....Yay!!!

After a dilatory start to the day today I eventually managed to get upstairs and do some inky stuff.
I found some rather nasty coloured velvet flowers (pink, lemon etc) in my basket the other day and wanted to recolour them. So I used Colour Wash spray inks diluted with a little water and dunked the flowers into the mixture. Spread them all out onto a tray and then sprayed with various Glimmer Mists and some other sprays with mica powders in. They are now drying nicely and look a thousand times better.
There was lots of inky mixture left on the tray so I have used that up by dragging a couple of sheets of card through it to make some nice backgrounds for stamping on.
The top plate of flowers have been done with Cranberry ink with a spritz of Auburn GM and another coppery coloured mist.
The bottom plate of flowers was coloured with Eggplant ink and spritzed with Silver GM and a violet mist.
The colour on the paper is a mixture of the lot.......lol!!!
Well I am on holiday now until a week on Tuesday.......phewwww I am soooo ready for a break.
Next Tuesday the decorating starts. DD will be asleep during the day until Monday lunchtime and then I am off to Asda in the afternoon...........don't I lead the most exciting life ever......lol!!! Most people would spend their holiday at the seaside and here's me going to the supermarket and decorating. Ah well I shan't have to pack or make sure I turn the electric off.........ha ha ha!!!
Right....I'm off for a cuppa with hubby before I go for a nice soak in my Sanctuary.
Have a fab weekend.

I Remembered!!!

Here are the cards I should have bought home on Monday to photograph. Can you spot my once a year foray into the world of teabag folding. Thank goodness it's over and done with.
Love this set of Christmas stamps from Inkadinkado and the paper which is a Francoise Read design from Woodware. I think it's discontinued now but we still have a good stock at the shop as we liked it a lot.......and bought a lot.
All stamping is onto silver card using Versamark ink and Winter Wonderland embossing powder.
The tiny card in the middle is a Scrapling which is the piece cut from the bottom of an A5 card blank when I make a large square card. I'm OK making the cards.......love them in fact.......but now I have to make an envelope to fit them and I ain't so good at making envelopes......lol!!!

Set myself on with a right old job at the shop today. I sorted out the peeloff stand and made header cards for each section to make it easier to find things when people ask for a specific sheet. Hope Deb approves when she sees it tomorrow. A couple of customers did comment how organised it was so it was a job worth doing.

When I got home I had to make a sympathy card as one of hubby's workmates has lost his wife. So sad. She was only a few years older than me.

Just waiting for His Nibs to come home and then I am off back upstairs to finish tidying up. Don't know if I'll get anything else made tonight as I have made quite a mess shifting furniture around.

Thanks for dropping by.

Silly Old Bat!!!

Made some cards at work yesterday and thought I had put them in my bag to bring home and photograph........and I hadn't.......arrrrrrrgh silly old buffer!!!
I've been at home today (Tuesday) and not really made anything worth blogging. Just some stock for the local shop.......quick and easy and using up the last of some DCWV Nana's Kids paper I had.
Other than that I have been very housewifey today and did a cooked meal for tea and marinated and cooked some chicken to go with some salad for tomorrow nights tea. I am mightily impressed with meself as I am not usually so organised but DD has to fetch me from Ashby on Wednesday's so a quick tea is essential when she has to get ready to go to work herself.
Two more days at work and then I have thirteen days off. I am going to Arstairs......to finish off the decorating.........lol!!!
DD is on a rest week so we have made a plan and we're determined to stick to it.
Hubby has been threatened with dire consequences if he starts ordering complicated meals to take me away from my wallpapering.
Well I am off to get some sleep.....all this domestic activity has quite worn me out.
Bye for now

Ollyphant Autumn!!!

Took a day off yesterday and went out for a ride with DD. She took me to Bridgemere Garden Centre for one of their fabulous breakfasts and then we went a wander around the centre. Wow.....has it changed since the last time I went. They now have an Edinburgh Woollen Mill outlet, Cotton Traders, The Works and a second tearoom.
It was fabulous. DD got a couple of bargains from Cotton Traders and I just bought a craft magazine from HobbyCraft but it was nice to get out and away from work for a bit.
There was a man there from a Birds Of Prey rescue centre and I got to hold the most beautiful, enormous owl I have ever seen. He was called Muggle and I just wanted to bring him home and cuddle him.

Well onto the card. Yes the stamp is cute and so not my sort of thing but I have purchased a couple of these sets from Kars to practice my Gamsol and Promarker Techniques. They are quite good value for money as on most of them there are two figures plus accessory stamps.
The stamping is done onto a 4 inch Sizzix circle and layered onto the Sizzix scallop.
Colouring is done with crayons and low odour thinners.
Cardstock is Core'Dinations........no surprise there......lol!!!
Papers are Graphic 45 and MM.

I didn't come on the computer at all yesterday so I think I will have a browse around before I go up and get some work done.
Thanks for dropping by.

Golden Wedding Card-3!!!

Should have posted this yesterday but by the time I got home from work I was fit for nothing as it had been so hot in the shop and my head ached something chronic.
Today is lovely though. We have had a good old storm this morning which has cleared the air a bit thank goodness and it's quite cool now.

I don't think the card needs much explanation but the background is done on the Scor-Pal. Hearts are Sizzix and numbers are Sizzix Girls Are Weird Sizzlet Alphabet.

Just having a spot of lunch and then I am off upstairs to create......hopefully......lol!!!
Bye for now.

Golden Wedding!!!

Two of the golden wedding cards I made for an order this week.
The top card is a pair of champagne glasses from the Cricut Wedding Solutions cartridge but I have cut the tops off and added a layer of acetate to adhere the gem bubbles to.
The train pic was on my computer but I don't know where it came from. It was coloured so I altered it in my photo programme to be sepia toned and then cut and decoupaged the layers.

I've really had enough of this heat now. It makes me feel quite poorly and I haven't got anything done in the way of samples at the shop today because my head just would not work. Anyway the fan is on full blast upstairs so I might go up and faff around a bit now I am a bit cooler.

Bye for now.
