Totally Amazing!!!

As the day wore on yesterday I felt less and less like going out to the cinema but I dragged my sorry carcass out and I am so glad that I did. Bohemian Rhapsody was totally amazing.
I have loved Queen since I was a teenager (and once got banned from a pub for playing Killer Queen constantly on the jukebox...lol). I expected to be a little underwhelmed but not a bit of it and I can't wait for March 4th when the DVD is released.
I am almost tempted to go and see it again tonight.

Not much going on here today. DD has gone for a little trip into Derby, Andy is watching telly and I am doing laundry and tidying the sewing table ready to set out a jigsaw for DD and I to do over the next couple of days.
I was going to bake but there is enough sweet stuff which needs using up so I'll leave that for now.
Tea is sorted as the gammon was cooked yesterday and I just need to make a bowl of salad and defrost some rolls to have with it.

I hope you are all having a lovely New Year's Eve and I wish you A Very Happy and Healthy 2019. May it be full of everything you wish for.

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed! I can't wait to see it but will wait for the dvd. I have to admit that I much don't like going to the cinema anymore (I sound REALLY old!). Over here they've changed it where you have to say where you are sitting and they come serve you food. I really don't like having to deal with people much and the thought of not being able to move if next to irritating people really puts me off as well as listening to people eat. Sigh. Oh well. Glad you enjoyed. Enjoy your day! Happy (early) New Year!

    1. I usually prefer to wait for films on DVD but I badly wanted to see Bohemian Rhapsody.
We now pay via a machine and you have to book a specific seat before your ticket is issued...it drives me nuts.....and don't even get me started on the idiots using their mobiles during the film. They don't even put the notice up now saying 'please switch off your mobile'.
We only ever buy a drink to take in with us as I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices they charge for snacks and sweets.
      Happy New Year.

  2. And a Happy New Year to you and your family Sheila, hope it is kinder to all of us.

I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema, probably when the Harry Potter films first came out, ages ago. There are so many films I would like to see, particularly ones that have been recommended on blogs, but I'll wait for them to appear on TV. I'm a very patient soul, lol.

I remember the first time I saw Queen. It was on The Old Grey Whistle Test and they all had long hair, even Freddie Mercury and were wearing black leather jackets and also trousers, I think. Certainly a long way from how they came to be known. Glad you enjoyed the film. I always find that I enjoy something a lot more when I've been dreading it and dragging my heels about going than when I'm actually looking forward to it.

    'Talk' to you next year.

    1. I will usually wait for films to come out on DVD unless it's something I really want to see on the big screen and the Live Aid concert scenes were definitely worth seeing on the big screen.
Hope you have a Happy New Year Joan.

    1. ....and a very Happy New Year to you Chris. I hope it's everything you hope for.
There is about an inch of hair growth now so it's just at the scruffy stage although I do actually love it.

  6. So pleased you enjoyed the film. I am not a film goer, the last one was Calender Girls because I have been a long term WI member.
