This morning I woke up to the dreaded bright, hot sunshine and my heart sank just a little bit......but now we have thick grey cloud, a nice breeze and the thermometer is dropping slowly downwards.
If it carries on I will crank the pootling up a notch and go out and get the windows cleaned as they are looking very dusty and cobwebby.
Still not keen to have the cooker on for long so today we will have hard boiled eggs and crispy maple glazed bacon with a fridge bottom salad, homemade mustard mayo dressing and some crusty bread.
We have got through a lot of salad this week so I will need to go out for fresh supplies tonight.
I think I have found some suitable fabric to add to Andy's quilt so once my jobs are done I'll lay all the bits out and see if it works and then start the sewing if I have time.
Yay....the thermometer has just dropped another degree so I can go and change out of my floaty frock and put my working clobber on for the first time in a few days.
Hope you all have a fab day.

It is much more bearable hear today, enjoy your day.x
ReplyDeleteThanks Marlene...it was lovely to be able to get jobs done without feeling like I was melting-x-
DeleteYou maybe ought to think about moving to colder climes. The climate here would really suit you. Hope you manage to get all your jobs done. I am back to painting.
ReplyDeleteI'd pack my bags in a heartbeat....ah but thinking about it....do you get snow up there. I love me a bit of snow.
DeleteHope your painting is going well-x-
We have had a little mist sweeping down the mountain but that has gone. It is much cooler but the rain has not got here yet.
ReplyDeleteWe keep getting rain for all of two seconds so it's not helping theg garden much-x-
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling more comfortable today. I'm a bit disappointed I have to reach for my cardigan. X
ReplyDeleteI very nearly had to put some sniggly socks on last night but then decided I rather liked the feeling of cool feet after a few days of boiled feet....lol-x-
DeleteHow lucky you are to get a break from excessive heat but as you say not cool enough to have the cooker on. It's always a challenge to work out how much salad stuff to buy and hate it when something has to be binned.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you and daughter watching these days?
Sandy
Ooooh it is lovely to have a break from the heat Sandy.
DeleteYes it is hard to know how much salad to buy isn't it? We do usually manage to eat it all but my biggest bug is how quickly the cucumbers seem to go off. One day I have a perfectly fine half in the fridge and the next it has turned to mush. I'm sure they used to last a lot longer than that....although I do find if I slice it into a container it lasts a bit longer.
DD and I are watching quite a bit on the Freeview channel at the moment....either the Food Channel for Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, Mystery Diners or anything else American...which we love.....or the True Crime Channel.
We have no box sets to watch until we find something else we fancy.
Hope you are well.
Hugs-x-
Yes I have had that happen with cucumbers. I will try what you do and slice up into a container. Always a bit worried about another BPPV attack but am thankful that for now I am so much better.

DeleteNo sunshine here now, but still having the fan on due to the humidity. Your tea sounds very tasty, we're having burgers with salad tonight xx
ReplyDeleteMy fan has been off since yesterday morning as there is a lovely breeze blowing.
DeleteHope your burgers were tasty-x-
It has been much cooler here today, though I hardly left my work table...it even became a tad chilly around midday sitting still. x
ReplyDeleteLots cooler here now....in fact my feet were very cold last night. I didn't go for my socks though as it was a relief to be honest.
