For some unknown reason I decided to stay up on on Thursday through the night to watch the election results as they came in.
I watched the ITV programme and have to say thoroughly enjoyed it. Their choice of George Osbourne and Ed Balls was just awesome and I even fell a little bit in love with the eternally annoying Robert Peston.
The result was a bit of a shocker to say the least so I expect to be trolling off down to the village to cast another vote sometime soon.
Had to have a sleep after that so got absolutely nothing done all day as I woke up feeling like a slug.
Today I am teaching DD to make Lasagne. The sauce is simmering on the stove and smelling really good.
We were going to make it last night to sit overnight but I hadn't the energy.
Our laid back plumber has been engaged to rip out the shower and replace it with a bath.....although the shower will kept over the bath. Gawd knows when he will start. He came in the week to have a look at it and said he would ring Andy the day after but up to now he hasn't......so dilatory but he is really nice and does a good job for us.
I think we will go ahead and order the bath, panel and taps so we have them ready for when he gets round to doing it.
Well it's dull and threatening rain so I don't think I will start any laundry. It can wait until Monday.
Today is the first day for nearly a month that I didn't wake up crying for Maggie. I am sure there will be many more days when I do but a little progress is a good thing.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

DeleteSending lots of love Sheila. Lasagne sounds a good plan on a grey day. X
ReplyDeleteThanks Jules.
DeleteThe Lasagne was pretty good for a first timer...lol-x-
There was no way I could have stayed up all night, glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have taken 1 tiny step more will follow given time.
Tender hugs,

I surprised myself actually Hazel....I'm not much of an all nighter these days.
DeleteThank you for the hugs-x-
Awww Sheila...letting go of emotions is good for us...though it doesn't particularly feel like it when it's happening. I hope you will soon be able to talk about Maggie and just feel pride that she was your sister and not hurt inside. Sending a squishy hug your way. Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteI'll get there Jackie. I just wish I could listen to the music we both liked but I can't at the moment.
DeleteThanks for the lovely hug-x-
It is not something you will ever get over the loss of your sister, you learn to live with it and it gets easier over time. I admire your stamina staying up for the election, not quite the result that was expected. Take care.
ReplyDeleteNo....I will never get over losing Maggie but I will be glad when I can look at her picture without crying and get rid of this dreadful brick that seems to be filling my stomach :( -x-
DeleteI'm sure it will take a while to adjust though you will never get over the loss. I hope memories of the good times help you through just a little.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have to stay up for the election as I'm five hours behind so by the time I went to bed at midnight it had pretty much been decided. Mum laughed when I said at least it's all over. As you said, she's expecting another one soon.
Hope the sun starts shining soon!
More cloud today which gets me off starting the laundry...lol...but I think we may be in for some thunder as my head is hurting this morning-x-
