A Not Slow And Lazy Sunday!!!

I love Sunday as you know but today is not going to be one of those long, slow and lazy days and I hate it already.
It started to go down hill when I got downstairs this morning and found Smudge had pee'd on the kitchen carpet so now I have to run the beast over to clean it which was not on my job list for today.

It's dry out so the food stores can be fetched up from the shed and put back on the shelves.

There is laundry to do which I don't usually do on a Sunday but Andy wants his work clothes washed and dried today....even though he isn't at work until Wednesday night....bladdy nuisance.

There is a piece of beef roasting for lunch and all the veg prep is done. Batter is made for the Yorkshires.

Meanwhile the whole house feels like the Wreck of the Hesperus but filthy as well....which is making me feel angsty.
I don't expect there to be any relaxation going on until it's time for Call The Midwife.

This will not go down as one of my most favourite days ever but I'll see if any time can be squeezed out of the week to get back to me sewing.

Well I am off to put some roasties in to start cooking.

Hope your Sunday is a little more peaceful.

    1. I really don't like giving over my Sunday to everyday jobs. I know I am at home all the time but everyone deserves a day off don't they-x-

  2. I had my lazy day yesterday, today has been different. No laundry but lots of sorting out in the sewing room and getting set up for quilting tomorrow. The vacuum has been round the house closely followed by duster and polish. I want to wipe all the paintwork down as that is on my job list for tomorrow. Dinner will be a veggy, tomatoey, pasta dish with some turmeric and ginger. Recipe to be made up as I go.

    1. There will come a day of reckoning when the dining/sewing room will eed another sort out due to all the stuff being moved about that keeps getting dumped in here.
I do love a recipe that is made up as you go along. Some of our most favourite meals have been made that way-x-

  3. Dear Sheila:

Oh dear it certainly started off poorly and I think the washing of the work clothes would have sent me over the edge.

We always attend the 8:00 am church service and that puts a lovely start to the day. Tonight I get to watch Victoria - note I said "I" hubby will be in the family room watching his rubbish.

    1. Lol Sandy....I did threaten to give his new quilt to a 'good' dog when it's finished.

I never quite got into Victoria. Probably due to it not being one of my favourite periods in history. For me it has to be either 17th century or 40's, 50's and 60's.
I'd love a room where I could banish Andy to watch the rubbish he watches. It would be soundproofed so that the Dad's Army and Steptoe theme tunes couldn't be heard outside of it....oh what bliss to never have to hear those ever again...lol.

  4. We have just been out for Sunday lunch, the cooker and kitchen has been cleaned to within an inch of its life. I am making a start on cleaning the carpets this evening before we go to bed. Looking forward to Call the Midwife too.

    1. Hope you enjoyed your lunch. Good idea not to mess up your nice clean kitchen.
I'll be starting the carpet cleaning shortly and hopefully it won't take too long-x-

  6. Oh Smudge did you leak out a little woopsie? I know you didn't mean to my sweet...sometimes humans can get a little hung up over things like this, but don't worry mummy loves you very much and wouldn't really give your quilt to another dog. x

    1. A little woopsie....lol....more like enough to half fill the Derwent reservoir.
He is forgiven and has had his cuddles and treats-x-

  7. Oh dear, you Sunday didn't sound much fun. Hate those sort of starts to the day, things tend to go downhill don't they.

Our dogs make a special trip onto our carpet if they're sick. Does my head in. There's loads of wooden flooring which would be easier to clean - but no, the carpet it is.

Hope you enjoyed Call The Midwife. It's a bit more gritty this time isn't it. xx
