Swings And Roundabouts!!!

Good morning from Staffordshire where we have a very mixed bag of weather this morning.
We started off with a bit of sun but now it's very grey, windy and raining off and on. I must admit I am thankful for the rain as it will save me struggling to peg the laundry on the line.....my shoulders still hurt from carrying those heavy bags of fabric on Tuesday and I can barely lift my arms. I am definitely taking my granny trolley next time I go...lol.

Yesterday I was at the doctors for my annual review and there was good news....I had lost half a stone, not so good news....blood sugars were very slightly up, blood pressure was a little higher and now they think I may be vitamin D deficient so I have to have yet more blood tests for that. I have opted though to have that checked when I go for my next tests in three months.

We were late getting back from dropping Ruby home last night due to the distraction of that little cutie pie Marlowe being very entertaining so I didn't get the waistband finished on the maxi skirt. I'll get that done today once I have hobbled round and got a few jobs done.

For tea today I am making turkey burgers seasoned with fajita style herbs and spices. They will be served in a brioche bun with a side of sweet potato wedges and a lime and green chillie reduced fat mayo dip.....yummy.

Okey dokey....I shall be away to my chores then.....oh bl***y hell....the sun has come out again so now I am going to have to peg the laundry out....lol.

Have a fabulous day.

  1. Be careful with the Vitamin D. I was discovered to be very deficient last year;my level was less than a third of the recommended minimum and I felt very ill indeed and was in a lot of pain.I was also found to be deficient in B12.

    1. Scarlet...I hope you are now getting any treatment you need and that things have improved for you.
I may have to make an appointment then and have that blood test a little earlier as I must admit the constant pain is now getting me down-x-

  2. It's windy and freezing here today and it keeps raining on and off so my washing is on the airer.

Great news about the weight loss - boo! to the rest, but maybe next time you go things will be better. My niece is deficient in Vitamin B and has to have injections every so often, don't know too much about it but she had terrible pains in her legs before it was discovered.

Your tea sounds lovely. Do you mind if I knock on if I'm ever in the area? :) xx

    1. I've just put the heating on and the washing has not gone out as it decided to thrash it down with rain.

The leg pain was what I mentioned to the doctor yesterday although I do have constant pain in various other areas too....sad old crock I am.

You would be welcome here any time Suzanne.
      Hugs-x-

    1. Thank you Marlene.

Yes we always use brioche buns now ever since we had a burger at Wetherspoons in one. They are so much nicer-x-

  4. Found out the other day there are two types of blood sugar tests.Long and short term. Silly nurse got a short term one and the results were bad; Doctor got long term one and the results were good and then said he never took any notice of the short ones as they were to unreliable!

    1. Now that is making me wonder Trish as I am really very careful about what I eat with only the very occassional fall off the wagon such as a small piece of my birthday cake or a small bar of chocolate if I am desperate for something sweet.
It really is disheartening when you try so hard and then the results don't live up to expectations-x-

  5. Don't take any chances with your health Sheila, better to get any tests needed done sooner rather than later. Love the sound of your tea, I am going to make us a chicken curry.

  6. It's awful to have constant pain. I do hope you feel better soon. You have made me think.... I need to get out into the sun a bit more whenever I get the chance. I seem to ache more than ever :(
