Snowflake Bauble!!!

Lurrrrrrrving some of the new Papermania Duo stamp sets. This one in particular.
Here I have stamped a background using StazOn-Teal and the snowflake image.
The bauble is stamped onto a smaller piece of card using the same colour, then overstamped with Versamark and embossed with Holographic EP.
Finished off with some Papermania glitter dots.
As always things are a bit mad here at Manic Towers. I am way behind with my Christmas stock for the local shop for a number of reasons and no matter how much I plan something always turns up to stop me doing what I need to do so lots of hair pulling going on at the moment.
I am also a bit behind with getting out the latest batch of Lucky Dip parcels. I need padded envelopes and won't get in to town until the weekend. Be assured I haven't forgotten anyone and they will be with you as soon as I am sorted with the said envelopes.
Had quite a busy day at the shop today but I did manage to have a go with the word book templates we have had in. Never done one before. Just need to get the decorating of it finished and I'll take a pic of it to post.
For now I am going to have five minutes peace with nobody talking at me or wanting anything.....bliss!!!
Thanks for dropping by.

Phoooooo-weeeeeee!!!

Sorry I don't have anything to post tonight. I have had a really busy few days.
Sunday we had BIL and his new partner for lunch so Saturday was spent mucking out the house which has been a tad neglected of late.
Today I have done some batch cooking again. This time I did a huge batch of Chicken and Brocolli for our favourite pie. We will have one tomorrow and the rest have gone in the freezer.
Then I had to rush upstairs design and prep two cards for a class tomorrow and make two birthday cards for tomorrow, one for hubby and one for Deb. Wrap presents etc all the while running up and down stairs to pass hubby tools as he has been doing some work in a very tight area of our back extension which involves climbing over an awkward wall and he doesn't quite get the concept of putting his tools where he can get at them.....lol!!!
So 9pm I finally got my evening meal and I am now off for a nice soak in the bath before I go and pack my bag ready for morning after which I am going to collapse on the sofa and read for a bit.

Christmas Tri-Shutter Card!!!

Just a plain and simple Christmas card today.
I love the Tri-Shutter cards and have seen some absolute beauties done with much more decoration than I have used but I don't seem to be able to get the balance right so I stick with simple ones.
Lucky Dip No 3 is now closed and I will announce the winners tomorrow. I am going to take a break from it next week as I have quite a busy week already and I need to make up some more packs anyway.
I've had quite a productive day today cutting up my huge pile of Basic Grey Christmas offcuts which in turn covered a huge pile of cards and leaves me needing to find a huge pile of something to put on the fronts now...........tomorrow's job.
I'm off to snuggle on the sofa and have a read of a new book that Deb has loaned me.
Thanks for dropping by.

Heart Punch Cards!!!

Did pretty well with all of my jobs today. Packed loads of cards, made some more and packed those, tidied up a bit and then spent the rest of the evening making Christmas toppers out of my bits basket.
I'm at work tomorrow and Thursday and then off again until Tuesday.........I could get used to staying at home all of the time but unfortunately that don't pay the bills.......lol!!!
The cards I have posted tonight are just some I put together to use up a bit of glitter card I had left over from something else. I think they look quite smart even though they are very simple.

Would just like to say thanks to Patty Jo for all of the lovely comments she left on various cards on both of my blogs. That was so kind.
And to Sarah.......ooooh yes.......I have read Angels and Demons several times as I have all of Dan Brown's books and hubby is about to treat me to his new one......can't wait for that.
Can't believe that there are people out there who actually like Staffordshire Oatcakes......I thought it was just my hubby......lol!!! I only have to look at one and I feel sick but if I touch one..........oooooh I just can't bear to think about it.

Anyway I think I had best get off to bed if I have to go to work in the morning. After five days of pleasing myself it going to be tough having to get up.

Thanks for dropping by.

For Sale....One Husband!!!

Ooooooh he's dropped out of favour today I can tell you so all those ladies offering to take him off my hands after the Sunday lunch.....you can flippin' well have him.
I sent him out this morning for a pack of AAA batteries for my camera......just those....nothing else. He came back with........a newspaper, a tube of tomato puree (we just got a new one on Saturday), a packet of disgusting Staffordshire Oatcakes and no bloody batteries. So I have a stack of cards to take pics of and a dead camera. I'm off out looking for toadstools tomorrow....lol!!!

I got loads done today anyway. All of the prize packs that I have details for are packed and ready to go to work with me on Wednesday. I sorted out all of the made up cards that need inserts and packing........another yuck for that job. Sorted my glitter card into bags so I just have to pull out the colour I need.........looked like a fairy after that although you wouldn't want me sitting on top of your Christmas tree........lol!!!
So I worked like a demon all day then came down and cooked the evening meal, sat down with DD to watch a DVD and started with a blummin migraine. Luckily it wasn't a bad one and once the visual disturbance had gone I managed to watch the film which was Angels and Demons. Despite what the critics said I thought it was fab apart from Ewan McGregor's Irish accent.....lol!!! Why don't they just get an Irish man to play the part. Still he wasn't bad on the eyes for a Monday night..........ha ha ha!!!

Well I am off for a mooch around BlogLand for half an hour and then to bed to get my strength up for a mammoth card packing session when I get up.

Thanks for dropping by.

K & Co Anniversary!!!

I've been ploughing through my stack of K & Co papers again and making up some general anniversary cards. Normally I don't use these kind of stickers but they came in the bargain pack of papers me mate Gert picked up for me and I thought they were too pretty to not use them.

The tag has been cut from the front of a printed card blank (never quite sure what to do with them) which came in a PaperMania bag of goodies. I've inked around the edge with a deep coral
and then gold before adding the punched and folded circle top. The little postage stamp has been stuck onto a piece of acetate and trimmed right to the edge to save cutting around all the fiddly bits. This was then attached with a foam pad.
I have five days off now and need to spend a couple of days catching up on housey stuff during the day including a mammoth freezer filling day on Saturday then crafting in the evenings if I am not too whacked. After that I will have three glorious days to myself......yay!!!
We've had internet problems since last night but all is sorted now so I'm off to catch up on a bit of surfing and a looksee if there's anything on the Iplayer thingy to see if there are any cookery programmes to catch up on. I have just caught up with Economy Gastronomy which is fabulous and Hairy Bikers which has me in stitches. Watched some Nigel Slater last night before the internet went down and that was pretty good too.........oooooh I feel a Domestic Goddess session coming on..........lol!!!
Bye for now.

A New Job!!!

Nah.......not me........the card.....lol!!!
I know you will be shocked to see me cutting up G45 papers but fear ye not....these were from Deb to make shop samples.
For this one I joined two pieces of A4 card with a strip of the DP and then trimmed it down to what I call.....an A4 square.....which is roughly eight and a quarter inches square.
The rest is images from one of the sheets and a tag sheet with the addition of ribbon and a brad.
The lettering is not ideal but we don't stock any of the other die sets that I have at home and it's so cruel to use something on a card that we don't have available in the shop. I might try a bit of Glossy Accents on it to pep it up a bit.

This was my first day at the shop since last Wednesday so I have had five days off. You would think that I have would have had loads of time in my room to get things done but I spent most of the time pleasing other people and not myself. They have been warned that this weekend I am spending one day batch cooking for the freezer, the rest of the time I will be working upstairs and they can fend for themselves.....lol!!!

Just a note for ladies who visit the shop.......this weekend sees the start of the annual Statutes Fair in Ashby. The shop will be open on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th as usual but closed on Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd. Open as usual from Wednesday 23rd.

Right I am away to the sofa for a read and an early night.
Thanks for dropping by.

Oh Christmas Tree!!!

Cards.........as promised.
This is the Bondaweb Technique used on Sizzix die cut trees. Background is chalked and Glimmer misted and then embossed with the Divine Swirl embossing folder.
Merry Christmas stamp is DeNami.
Snowflake brads are Dovecraft......I think.

It's been an odd week this week. Don't seem to have achieved much. Seem to be going through a bit of a 'blue' period at the moment though I don't know why as I don't have much to be miserable about apart from getting old and growing grey.......lol!!! I do have a couple of things on my mind but they will sort themselves out one way or another.
Thanks to all who entered the Lucky Dip. There will be another one starting tomorrow evening when I get back from BIL's where we are going for lunch.......and I may squeeze in a little trip to Ikea seeing as how he lives just round the corner from the Nottingham branch......be rude not to go being so near.

Right.....I had best go and give the chicken a poke to see if it's cooked. I'm cooking a celebration tea tonight as it was our 33rd wedding anniversary yesterday but the other half was at work until 10pm.

Thanks for dropping by.

Manic's Crafty Lucky Dip!!!

THIS DRAW IS NOW CLOSED

I am having a really good sort out in preparation for getting some new units for my workroom and finding tons of stuff that I either haven't used for ages, will never use or just don't like any more. So I thought it would be fun to do a Crafty Lucky Dip on here to help these items find new and hopefully loving homes.
I have kept all prizes small and made more of them to give more people a chance to win something and this could run for several weeks...........you should see the pile...lol!!!
There are stamps, 6x6 papers, ribbons etc. There will be no pics posted. Ten winners will just get whatever envelope I pick from the pile.

So what do you have to do?
Just leave a comment on this post and tell me which is your favourite paper range.

RULES
1- Only one comment per person please. Duplicate comments will be deleted.

2-This is not blog candy as such so I do not want any links posted on sites that trawl for blog candy.

3-No Anonymous comments. If you do not wish to open a Google account to post comments please e mail me via the address in my side bar and I will add you to the draw. Anonymous comments will be deleted.

4-Draw will end at 12pm GMT on Friday 11th September and the ten winners for the week will be chosen using Random.org.

5-A new draw will be posted each Sunday until all of the envelopes are gone.

Good Luck

Another TE'd Christmas Card!!!

Here is another Christmas card with Triple Embossing.
This time I have coloured a piece of mountboard with chalks before stamping with the foliage stamp (Creative Expressions) and glazing with three layers of ultra thick embossing powder.
The background is card embossed with the new star folder from Cuttlebug which has been torn and chalked.
Bauble is a stamp from an Inkadinkado clear set.
Finished off with a few dots of Stickles for berries and the centre of the bauble and a stamped greeting which is also Inkadinkado.
The pic isn't fab but the light in my room is awful with the dull weather.

Had quite a productive day on the Expression today. Got through heaps of card that needed using up and hope to get through a bit more before I come down to watch X Factor. Love it when we get to this time of year and there is something worth watching on tv of a Saturday night. Snuggling up with my gorgeous hubby, DD and the dog is one of my most favourite things but there has to be something worth watching or I get fidgetty.

Thanks for your visit.

Triple Embossed Christmas!!!

Although I love Triple Embossing it can sometimes look a bit heavy so here I have combined a small TE'd tile with an acetate fronted card to lighten the look a little.
I used a small square of mountboard and being the meanie that I am I used two layers of clear ultra thick embossing powder before finishing off with a layer of gold Metal Magic.
Once cooled I used a Cropadile to make the holes for the red brads.
The gold card layer is attached behind the acetate and the red card layer and embossed tile to the front.

I've had a proper flopsadopsical day today. Just pottering around cleaning and cooking and trying not to make a noise as DD was in bed. You can always bet though that when I am trying to keep quiet every cat in the neighbourhood congregates on the path outside our house and has the dog wired up and barking so it's been a bit of a battle to keep him away from the front window today.

Not got anything done in the way of cardmaking but I am off up there now that all my housewifely duties are done.

Do Not Adjust Your Sets!!!

Whoooo........I've gone all funky.
I just love this paper collection........White Out from WRMK. Not the kind of stuff I usually fall in love with but I think the combination of colours in the designs are just stunning.
Here I have made a very simple card, mini pizza box and a gift bag.
The stamped image of mistletoe is from an Inkadinkado clear stamp set.

I'm spending this evening chillin' out. Browsing the net a bit and then I might watch a film. I was going to spend some time upstairs but I want to use the heat gun and hubby is very early to bed tonight so that's a no go as the noise disturbs him. When I have a particular thing in mind that I want to do nothing else will do so I gave up and came downstairs. Plus......it's a bit chilly tonight so I can snuggle up in my fluffy socks and PJ's with the fire on which chills me out like nothing else can.

Thanks for dropping by.

Mega Busy Day!!!

It's been a long and very busy day today. I was out of the house just after half seven this morning, at the shop for half eight, got some of the prep done for tomorrow's class before I opened ten minutes early as there was a customer waiting and then had customers in right up until about twenty to four came home and had a quick bowl of soup and then worked until about eleven forty five on the other prep I needed to get done.........phewwwwwww I am ready for my bed.
Need to wind down a bit first though so I am off for a browse around the web while I drink my cuppa.
I haven't had chance to take pics of anything tonight so that will be my first job when I get in tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by.

Tri Shutter Card!!!

Using more of the K & Co paper pack for this simple version of a Tri Shutter card. I really wish there had been more sheets of the flowered paper as I think it's beautiful.
The butterflies are peeloffs on vellum.

Off upstairs for a cardmaking session now. I have the urge to do some Joy Fold cards which are my most favourite card style ever and I haven't done any for a while. Also need to photograph the projects I did in the class today if the light is good enough.

Thanks for dropping by today.
