Thank you all for such a warm welcome when I posted last week.
I had intended to post every couple of days but that proved to be a little harder than I expected. Who knew that just sitting at the computer typing would be so difficult? But a week on and I am still improving slowly....still a bit woolly headed and still weak on my right side but I have managed to cook with Andy's help and have managed to use a knife without injuring myself so that is something.
Anyway enough about me........how are you all coping being on lockdown? Are you all managing to get everything you need?
It's very scary isn't it. I hate not being able to see The Doodles but we talk on the phone regularly. I dread the phone bill when it next comes.
Right well I'll try not to leave it so long next time.
Stay safe.
Sheila-x-
Thrilled to read you continue to improve. We are doing well thank you for asking and remain safe. Look after yourself and take care.
ReplyDeleteHello Sheila! So pleased to hear you're improving daily. Yes, it's so hard being away from the family, isn't it. We WhatsApp video call most days to keep our spirits up. These are very frightening times. I'm finding it impossible to book an online delivery, even though we are both over 70, and I'm dreading having to visit a supermarket. I'm leaving it until I absolutely HAVE to go. Take care my lovely, Angie x
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear your updates, Sheila. Fancy being able to get to grips with a knife, Andy better behave himself!
ReplyDeleteWe'd run out of milk, saw the queue outside Morrisons and continued on to the Co-op where there were only a handful of people and we were able to get milk, some eggs for a friend who's self-isolating plus some fresh fruit and veg. One item per customer, which made perfect sense!
Enjoy the sunshine. xxx
Lovely to hear from you again Sheila. As long as you're well enough to come on and post that's the main thing :) We are taking the lock down in our stride. Staying in has never really been a problem for me and luckily the weather is lovely so we can sit in the garden as well, although I can see how for some that's just rubbing salt in the wound and they're thinking of all those days at the park, beach, family BBQ's etc they're missing out on :( Still, it is what it is and we must all do our bit. Take care of yourself. xx
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you Sheila! Wow, your life has been full of changes and adjustments. Congratulations on your steady progress. Be kind to yourself! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila, waving from a safe distance! So glad to hear you're improving bit by bit, sorry you can't see The Doodles. It is hard isn't it, thank goodness for technology enabling us all to keep in touch with loved ones. We are fine thank you, the only thing wrong with me is terrible hayfever....people aren't too keen on one sneezing right now! Take care xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to hear from you, Sheila and to know that you are improving day by day.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Whatsapp for keeping in touch? I use it regularly for chatting with friends and family. X
Hi Sheila! Its very scary indeed. I'm still working and considered essential. The only good thing about that is its just me and the attorney I work for. he represents small to mid-sized local companies that need guidance on all sorts of employee issues, lay-off issues, do we keep the business open issues issues. The rest of our building is so quiet you can hear a mouse pee on cotton. I miss my grandsons too but we do face time on the tablet with them. Still its not the same and a one on one hug and kiss. Were muddling through...Take care and continue to get your strength back. You and your family are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to hear that you are improving Sheila. Hopefully, before you know it you will be back to normal. Take care and stay safe
ReplyDeleteHugs and love Sheila so pleased to see you're up and running, well on the internet if not in reality! Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteHearing from you cheers me up. I am glad you are improving. I can't imagine how much you are missing the Doodles. Those two girls sound like pure joy to me.
ReplyDeleteWe are in our second week of social isolation here with more places closing. I miss seeing people and we live in the country with lots of snow and ice so no walking past anywhere. Nearest neighbour is half a mile anyways. I am trying to keep busy with sewing and knitting and calling people. I pick one a day for a long chat. Our phone bills are not like yours. I have finally given up hope of the US border to the south of us being open soon as they are so poorly managed at the moment. I get mail there, groceries and have friends. We also have our hay baler over there but suspect when it gets closer to the time we will be allowed to get it but will have to self isolate yet again. Hugs to you and yours.
So pleased to see a post and to find that you are continuing to improve. So sorry that you can't see the grandchildren but thank goodness for modern technology.
ReplyDeleteStay well!
Good to hear you're that your improving, and were able to use a knife without injury. That's better than me most of the time! It's a scary situation to say the least. I'm still going out to work but my husband is doing the groceries and I'm not sure which of the two is the hardest :-) Do keep safe, Sheila! xxx
ReplyDeleteWith all the bad news that's going on this post really made my day, Sheila! I am so glad to hear you are doing well. I miss your posts. They always made me smile xx
ReplyDeletethis is a bit of a drastic way to self isolate chuck ....baby steps but in a couple of weeks you will look back and be amazed how much you have achieved
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear you are getting better Sheila x
ReplyDeleteSo great you are improving day by day - and STAY SAFE :)
ReplyDeleteIt’s so good to see your post and know that you’re improving day by day. It is difficult, isn’t it, not seeing your family. I’m really missing not seeing my daughter. But she’s doing ok at her house, working from home and has Bumble for company. Thank goodness for technology, I didn’t think I’d ever say that!
ReplyDeleteTried to post several times, Sheila but it seems that my messages are floating around in the ether somewhere! I've discovered that I cannot post using my Google account for some reason but I'm ok if I select Name/URL. Anyhow, so glad that you're recovering at home now. It takes time, but you're not missing a lot by having to rest! My social life at the weekend consisted of posting a card! X
ReplyDeleteShit just caught up with your news! How scary for you... I'm so relieved you are on the road to recovery and have not been seriously affected. Though I'm sure what you are going through is still horrible enough. Big {{{HUGS}}} to you chick. Get better.
ReplyDeleteHello beautiful, I have no idea with what's happened so will go read and find out. It gladdens my heart, however to find a post from you saying you are getting well again xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila. How are things with you pet. It's been a while since you posted and I am hoping that you are ok. x
