A Rethink Needed!!!

There is going to have to be a bit of juggling about in the bedroom. I really don't like the chest of drawers next to the bed. I don't know where it will go but it can't stay there.
Anyway I am leaving that problem and the shampooing until tomorrow as I am not feeling great after a bad night, also I have my Miss Doodle coming for tea and have things to prepare for that.

Andy has spotted a rat under the shed....again.....and he also saw the cheeky swine climbing up the pole to the bird table.
Poison has been purchased and laid down and hopefully it will be despatched as quickly as the one that came last year.
One of the joys of living by open fields I suppose.

Right....I have a bit of tidying to do and a chicken pie to assemble before my girl arrives so I will go and get on.

Have a lovely day.

  1. Rat. Shudder. Thankfully the worst we get is a mouse but they've stopped coming in. We have a cat so I think he keeps them away. I used to scream when I saw one of those! Not sure I could handle rats. Shudder again.

  3. Good you've got your ray of sunshine coming to lift you up. Living on the edge of a farm, we often get rats in the garden. Husband puts poisoned traps down all the time, that seems to keep them at bay. We get the odd mouse indoors too, bit of a nuisance but they're soon despatched.

    1. ....and lift me up she did Sooze.

Last year was the first time we actually saw a rat in the garden. I'm sure they visit regularly but we had never seen them.

  4. We had rats on the log store a couple of years ago. They live so much closer to us than most people imagine. Imagine its a rabbit and say awwwww… :-)

  6. Our back garden backs onto open fields and we had rats last year. We only moved here eighteen months ago and have never had rats before, so they were a bit of a surprise and a worry. They were living in a small wall we have by the bird feeders. Quite by chance my husband met someone in our local farm/garden shop who works for the big national rat catching company which I have forgotten the name of and gave him some good advice. He (my husband) put poison down as he was instructed and we have got rid of the seeds for the birds. We still put fat balls out, but so far, touch wood, the rats have gone. Hope you get rid of yours soon and permanently.

    1. We've been here 23 years and last year was the first time we had ever seen a rat in the garden. I'll tell Andy about removing the seeds and just leaving the fat balls out.

  7. There are rats everywhere, big cities are teeming with them. I have poison down most of the time as there are some empty buildings and waste land nearby. I use old drain pipes to keep it away from my hedgehog and when the babies come out the rat runs get blocked for safety.

  8. We too had a visitor to our bird table just before Christmas which seems to have been seen off. We also live by open fields and when it gets this cold I suppose they too get hungry. They don't bother us but I'd rather they didn't come so close to the house. I like the sound of your chicken pie might have to consider making one of those for us this weekend if the weather is going to be freezing like they say.
