I've Had Enough Of Faffing And Pottering!!!

I really need a big job to get my teeth into after a few days of pottering around and doing faffing little jobs. After getting up so early yesterday I spent the whole day clearing up bitty little chores and finally collapsed exhausted to write the Christmas cards last night....or at least half of them. I should in theory have slept well last night but I didn't. I tossed and turned for ages before dropping off and dragged my poor old bones out of bed at just after 7am.
There is laundry to finish, card writing to finish, veg to prepare for the evening meal, bread sauce to make for Christmas Day which will go in the freezer and I need to make a pattern for a mixer cover and find some fabric to make one with although I doubt the sewing machine will come out today.
If I get all that lot done I think I will find a couple of hours this afternoon to watch a Christmas film on You Tube.

Have a lovely day.

  1. Card writing is on the agenda here today. I just can't get motivated enough to get on with it. Lily is off school having had a temperature and a very restless night, although following a piece of home made flapjack she seems to have perked up. X

    1. It's taken me a while to get myself shifted on the card writing to be honest.
Oh poor Lily but homemade flapjack is the bestest medicine :)

  2. You are much more organised than me. I haven't even bought any christmas cards apart from the close family ones and not one roll of wrapping paper has yet been purchased. How can it only be two weeks away I ask you .....

    1. Now that is where you are much more organised than me Mitzi....I only just went to get the close family cards yesterday and the selection wasn't the greatest.
Two weeks!!! I hadn't even thought about how far away (or not) it was. I just knew it was coming...lol.

  3. I don't have a lot of cards to send, but I did get my Mum's box all packed up (projects finished!) and added sisters' cards and calendars to the box so I'm well pleased!

    1. Luckily all our cards are hand delivered but I am considering not sending any next year and making a donation to charity instead.

  4. I get less and less interested as I get older - I used to have to cater for upwards of 2000 Xmas diners and I still wake up relieved that those hideous days are over.
We did get a pack of Xmas cards from Oxfam last week and I need to remind Jon to write one to his uncle as he lives abroad, the rest I'll leave to the last minute, as usual.
And afternoon of trying on bikinis and packing my holiday bag for me! xxxx

    1. I seem to be lacking my usual enthusiasm this year Vix everything is feeling like such hard work.
Can't believe that your trip to India is so close now....it doesn't seem five minutes since your last trip.
      Enjoy your packing.

  5. I have faffing jobs that need to be done, silly little jobs that only take a few minutes, but I can't be bothered. I might write a Christmas card or two to post through peoples doors when they have given me one. I sent three in the post, that will do, no more.
