Phew........that was a busy weekend.
I am just winding down now and looking forward to a nice hot bath.
First though I thought I would show you this card that I managed to fit in this morning.
The background paper (Kanban) I found in a pile waiting to be used up and the image was an SIB from Cora at Paper Flowers. SIB (Saturday Image Bonus) is the name for the images that she shares on a Saturday at her Clearly Vintage blog.
DS & DDIL have been round for afternoon tea today. I had baked Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Sultana Scones and Apricot Scones. They've not left much so I guess it was OK. DDIL is very round now (not the cakes...lol!!!) and looks like she is going to pop. We have just over a week to go until the Bean makes his or her appearance and we have been taking bets on the date he/she will arrive and the sex.
Well there's a couple of things I need to get done before the Skate Off so I'll go and get them done.
Thanks for dropping by.

Had a busy day so I am only just settling down for the evening.......or what's left of it.....lol!!!
Too shattered to even have a browse tonight so I am going to curl up on the sofa with a book and a cuppa to try and gather some energy for a mammoth cooking session in the morning.
Thanks for stopping by.

New Stamps!!!
We've had some new Papermania stamp sets in at the shop and I spent yesterday having a bit of a play.
I started off with the Build A Rose set which has a full image of a rose and the components to make a layered rose including a leaf.
This is the rose for layering which has been stamped onto Core'dinations cardstock.
The cream panel has been repeatedly stamped with the small sentiment stamp from the set using black StazOn.
These stamp sets are cracking value for money.
It was very quiet at the shop today. I think everyone must have been snuggled by the fire having tea and crumpets.......it was so cold. My feet never got warm all day so I was happy to get home and do some snuggling myself.
Tonight I am going to treat myself to a browse on the internet looking for sneak peeks of goodies being shown at the CHA. Tim Holtzs' new stuff looks gorgeous and I definitely want the dies he has designed for Sizzix.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card.
Thanks for dropping by.

Just A Quick Post!!!
Just wanted to let you know that I have been a bit quiet as I am trying to get an order ready which has to be posted to France early in the week.
Struggling a bit with my damaged finger to do some of the finer stuff but I'm getting there.
Once I have done the order I am going to have a complete blitz of my workroom, get rid of a lot of stuff, have a move round and then see if I can fit in a sewing table.
I miss my sewing. I used to do loads....both dressmaking and soft furnishings plus a bit of patchwork. I miss my cross stitch too but am not going to get back into that.
Just taking a break now to watch Dancing On Ice.
Bye for now.

You Won't Believe What I've Done!!!
Being a bit of a neat freak last night........I went to tuck the cover in on the sofa which DD had left untidy and smashed my left hand middle finger on the frame and broke it. The crack was so loud it even made hubby jump. It hurts like bahoogery and I have been very naughty and not gone to the hospital.......I have just strapped it up which is exactly what I would be told to do anyway so it'll be alright. I just couldn't face being sat at the hospital for hours because I am at the doctors and the hospital nearly all day on Monday.
Anyhoo......before I went and broke myself I had made this card using the Queen Anne's Lace from Penny Black and paper from K & Co. I did it in a class with some ladies yesterday and they loved it. To me it's just a fairly simple card but the papers really make it more special..............love those colours.
I am going upstairs now to have a play and if the finger doesn't like it......tough!!!
Thanks for dropping by.

It's Pink...But At Least It's Stamped!!!
Went back to my box of backgrounds for this card I made tonight.
The card was coloured with random one inch cubes and sprayed with a pink Glimmer Mist.
The Judikins image has been stamped twice with black Versafine and embossed with clear EP.
One image was left whole and the other was cut along the line just in front of the faces.
I did start off by colouring areas in with a white gel pen but it wasn't working for me so I changed to painting with bleach after trying it out on a corner of the card.
Once dry I layered the cut image onto the whole image with foam pads and then attached it over the top of a spare piece of the background which has been embossed.
From another piece of spare card I punched the circles and squares and decorated them with black gemstones.
It was nice being back at the shop today although I did start with a flippin' migraine halfway through the day.
I was ready for home at four 'o' clock and I don't think I will be long out of bed tonight.....I am whacked.
Tomorrow we have an all day class so we got all the stuff ready for that, tidied the room and set the table out so that we don't have to rush in the morning.
Anyhoo........I am off to catch up with Nurse Jackie and then bed methinks.
Thanks for dropping by.

Coming Back........Slowly!!!
Ooooooh looky............I made a card...........and it's stamped!!!
I must have hit a small pocket of mojo this morning. I was looking through a box of inked backgrounds and found this one which I think is a gorgeous mix of colours.
Unfortunately I can't remember which inks I used for it. It could be either Adirondack or Kaleidacolour. Whichever it was, it was applied to a piece of white gloss card.
I stamped the Creative Exressions image onto the card using StazOn Jet Black. I then made a mask from copier paper and laid that in place while I stamped the music background....again using StazOn.
For the next stage I painted bleach into the areas that I wanted to look white and left it to dry.
Using the mask again and having made a bleach pad, I inked up a musical note stamp and stamped the ghostly notes coming out of the saxaphone.
The greeting plaque is two oval Nestability shapes attached with brads and the greeting is a peeloff.
Ifeel so much better now I have done some stamping.........lol!!!
I'll be back at work tomorrow and I am so nervous of going back. I have been at home for a month what with the Christmas holiday and then not being well.
Uh oh........here's hubby with the veg for tea so I had better go and get chopping.
Thanks for dropping by.

Notebooks!!!
Hi there
Sorry I haven't blogged for a few days. I've just been taking it easy and enjoying some time with hubby and DD, pottering about in the kitchen cooking meals and doing some baking and snatching the odd half hour up in my room to play.....although I am still not getting the mojo for making cards.
I have a drawer unit in my room which I would like to get rid of. It's only used for storing things like Bind It All wires, sanding pads and other odds and ends. Well I haven't used the BIA for ages so I thought I would use up some Basic Grey papers and some wires to make some notebooks.
These are DL size and the alphabet I have used is Slim Jim by Ellison.
Tonight I will get a couple of hours on my own for the first time in a month. Hubby has gone out to his retirement 'do'. He took voluntary redundancy/early retirement and finished when he broke up for Christmas. I must say it is nice having him at home all of the time.
DD is off to work later so I might watch a film.
Thanks for dropping by.

Another Day.......Another Bruise!!!
I should have typed this post over an hour ago but I have been catching up with The Hairy Bikers on IPlayer. So when I say today I actually mean yesterday but it's still today for me cos I ain't been to bed yet............does that make any sense to you............lol!!!
Anyway I have just got rid of the bruises on the back of both of my hands from the blood test I had last week and have come back today with another one for my collection. Blood pressure is still high but not as high as it was. The doc thinks he might tweak the dosage on my tablets for that. I have an echocardiogram appointment on Feb 3rd to have a look at my heart and the doc has also suggested a scan of my kidneys. It's all so flipping scary.
I am taking the rest of this week off and will be back at work from next Tuesday. I'm sure that's where I left my mojo. It's probably in the drawer with the ink pads......lol!!!
Well......I'm off to get started on a new book and snuggle on the sofa for a bit.
Night night.

Whoooo......Another Card!!!
Another card done with stuff that was already on my desk because I don't have the energy to hunt for stuff at the moment.
The paper is Bloom and Grow and the image is printed from the computer. I have to check out where I had that one from because I forgot to write it on the back when I printed it off some time ago.
The layered ovals are Nesties that I had for Christmas.
Finished off with a bow of organza ribbon.
Very simple but I love it.
For some reason I feel exhausted today so all I have done is make a pie for tea and cut a few die cuts on the Epic. I think it's a bath, jammies and snuggle night tonight.
Has anyone been watching Nurse Jackie on BBC? OMG........it is just brilliant.......I love it. Saw the first one and decided it wasn't quite hubby's thing so to avoid the inevitable......."What the b***** h*** do you want to watch this for?"........I have been watching it on the BBC IPlayer.
I'm also very happy that Dancing On Ice and Larkrise To Candleford are back on even though they clash. Thank gawd for the IPlayer.
Anyway I am off to poke the tea and see if it's cooked yet. While I have been off work we have been having an earlier meal and I love that doing that gives you a longer evening to enjoy. I cook and hubby washes up and it's all done and dusted by 5pm......can't be bad.
Thanks for your visit.

Found A Bit Of Mojo!!!
I'm still feeling a bit fragile...........not ill..........just not quite myself.
After the call to attend the hospital at 8:30am tomorrow I got another one changing it to 8:00am and then another one an hour later cancelling it altogether so no nasty needles tomorrow. I do wish they would get it over with though if they are going to do it.
I still have to go to the clinic on Tuesday so I shall have a word with the doc and see what is going to happen.
I don't have much energy or mojo for doing crafty things but I have put together a couple of cards using bits I had lying about......not bad for saying that I only went upstairs to sit in front of the heater.......lol!!!
This one is a bit of a mish mash with paper from DCWV, image from June at Art Freebies (link in sidebar), stamp stickers are K&Co Life's Journey and flowers are Prima.
It must have been a bit warmer here today than what they said it would be as the snow is thawing pretty quickly and we have had rain rather than the predicted snow.
It is still very cold though so lots of snuggling still to do.
Hubby went out and ordered our new cooker yesterday. I would have loved a range cooker but if I had one it would mean some major work re-arranging the kitchen which we don't feel able to tackle at the moment. He also bought me some new saucepans.......gorgeous stainless steel with glass lids which I have coveted for ages. The next thing will hopefully be a new stainless steel sink. At the moment I have one of those horrible plastic things that were all the rage when I did the kitchen a few years ago but it's got to that stage now where it is so scratched it never looks clean and I hate it with a passion.
Won't be long now until our little Bean is born.....about four weeks. Crikey...it doesn't seem five minutes since they told us the news. I am getting so excited.
Anyway.....I had best go before I bore you all to death.....lol!!!
Thanks for dropping by.

A Birthday Card For An Old Lady!!!
WOW........a card at last.
Managed to get hold of DD's birthday card when she wasn't looking. As you can see it was a major birthday...........lol!!!
Papers are all MME. On the card front and numbers they are Bloom and Grow and the background for the numbers is Laundry Line.
Buttons are MME Bloom and Grow.
Numbers are Sizzix die cuts.
I've had a phone call from the hospital today asking me to attend next Monday to have the fluid removed from around my lungs so I will be there Monday and Tuesday next week........great way to spend a couple of days eh? Still, DD is taking me so whatever it is.........it won't be boring if she is with me.
Still have quite a bit of tidying to do upstairs but am distracted today as hubby came home with the Let's Get Crafting crochet pack that I have been wittering about and I am itching to get started. Trouble is that I only have the wool that is in the pack until I can afford to buy some more.
Anyway......I am off to snuggle in my room and will have a play with whatever comes to hand. It's no good me making any kind of plan as by the time I get to the top of the stairs I have changed my mind............or forgotten what I was going to do.....lol!!!

Made It Home!!!
Well I did make it home yesterday.........eventually!!!
I didn't get the fluid drained because the doctor they have put me under now thinks there may be something wrong with my heart. I have to have another CT scan which I ain't looking forward to and he also wants to check out my kidneys.
So from breathing problems and a badly swollen leg which I thought was maybe a chest infection and a bit of water retention we have somehow ended up at heart problems and I am scared bloody stiff.........excuse the language.
Yet another blow today was reading in the local paper that the village shop where I sell my cards is closing down in the next couple of weeks.
Fabulous start to 2010...........I don't think.
Anyway I am off upstairs for a while to try and have a bit more of a tidy and to see if I can take a pic of DD's birthday card to post.
Thanks for dropping by.

Back To Hospital!!!
..........and I am so not looking forward to it.
One of the problems they found while I was in hospital was that I have a build up of fluid around my lungs which is going to have to come out. To do that means a needle between my ribs. They tried to do it on Thursday but as I am quite well upholstered it was difficult to do it blind so today they are going to use ultrasound to guide them to the site of the fluid.
I am hoping that it will be an outpatient procedure and that I won't have to stay in. Taking my night things with me just in case though.
DD will update you if I do have to stay in.
Thank you so much for all the kind messages, e mails and phone calls which were very much appreciated.
Bye for now

Hi!!!
Hi Ladies
I am pleased to say that I have been let out of hospital for the weekend and have to return on Monday.
I am full of holes from injections and rattle like a skeleton in a biscuit tin with the 22 tablets a day I am having to take but other than that I am not too bad at all.
Thank you so much for all of your good wishes after DD's post yesterday.........she enjoyed doing that so I might have to change my password......lol!!!
There are a couple of family birthday cards needed so I am going to go up to my room and see if I can come up with anything.........if not then hubby will have to go and buy some tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by.
