Roasting!!!

I thought it was supposed to be cooling down over the weekend and that we were supposed to be getting some rain but no...it doesn't look like that is happening today.
Roasting outside and roasting inside....although the smell of the pork cooking is very nice.
Andy has opted for the full monty Sunday roast but I will probably feel too headachey and sick to eat it by the time it's cooked.

I have just washed three little tops that I picked up at the charity shop yesterday for Ruby. I am collecting play clothes for her for when she comes to stay the week in August and if I have clothes here for her then she only has to pack her favourite outfits for going out.
The tops cost 33p each and they are gorgeous.
I now have to brave the outside heat and go and hang them on the line.

DD is on annual leave from tomorrow for a week.....yay a week off of thinking up interesting things for her pack up.
She is planning to make a start on Maggies little garden for me so don't expect to be putting your washing out as it will surely rain...lol.

Episode 5 of The Loch tonight and then thank goodness only one more to go. I am expecting to be left even more confused and then everything will be sorted in the last five minutes of the last episode.
I doubt I will watch if they have a second series.

........and....on that note I am off to melt a bit more.

Hope you are having a lovely day.

  1. Like you I melt and am no good for anybody or anything in this weather.
I'm looking forward to seeing what DD's plans for Maggie's garden are. I'm sure she'll make both you and Maggie proud and I expect there'll be a few tears from you when it's done. I'm a softie as I'm already welling up.

  2. My goodness does Andy have any idea how blessed he is to have you cook a full roast dinner on such a hot day. I hope he at least cleans up the dishes for you!

You are doing rather well with picking up nice tops for Ruby at the charity shop.

Looking forward to hearing about/photos of the garden to remember Maggie.

    1. Oh I doubt that very much Sandy but he will definitely be washing up as I am not doing it.

I'm very chuffed with the tops I got for Ruby. They all look like brand new.
Barnado's have a rail where you can fill a bag for 99p. I just got the three tops yesterday but my sister managed to get about ten items of clothing for her grandaughter including some dressing up stuff she needed for her end of term school play.....you can't go wrong.

I will post some pics of Maggies Garden although it won't look at it's best this year as the rose has finished flowering now.

      Hope you are well-x-

  3. no let up in Suffolk either. I am heartily sick of it, and even more so of the weather people who chirpily babble 'don't worry though, the sun will still be shining.

I just want a bit of rain, is it too much to ask?!

I also sweated buckets in the kitchen cooking a roast dinner today. Madness! x

    1. Oh me too Sadie...so sick of the sun and the heat. I swear I shall run outside naked at the first sign of a raindrop.

I've told Andy that next week is either the pub or he has to cook so we shall see...lol-x-

  4. The humidity is what kills me. It's not as humid today as it usually is so the heat is a bit more tolerable thankfully. I'm currently sitting in central air conditioning and feeling a bit cold so I'm definitely not complaining!! : ) You're a good wife to cook your honey a roast when it's that warm outside. xo

    1. That is what I love about American homes Wendy...I watch a lot of USA renovation and building shows when we can get them....they install both heating and air conditioning.

Todays' meal was definitely a labour of love....lol-x-

  5. You did really well with the tops for Ruby, bargain. I am going to watch The Loch too, but in fairness I haven't been enthralled.

  6. Being hot is no fun. We don't have central air just a window air conditioner and it cools things down a bit but not a lot so having the oven on is like roasting yourself. I would be able to cope better if it cooled down at night but it doesn't. I hope there's some summer left by the time I come over though I don't want it really hot lol
