I Couldn't Believe It!!!

We have been wishing for rain for days and there didn't look to be any signs of any yesterday so I thought I would hang my washing out on the line. I literally put one foot out of the door on my way to the line and the heavens opened. It hasn't really stopped since.
The most annoying thing is the load I was going to hang out is stuff that I never put in the dryer as I am worried it will shrink.
A bit of Sod's Law in action methinks...lol.
Despite that the rain is very welcome.....we have heavier rain this morning and you can almost hear the garden gulping it down and sighing with relief that it is much cooler today.

As it's cooler today I will be cooking a hot meal which DD and I can only have when Andy isn't here to eat so it's fish with creamy mash, peas and parsley sauce and my tummy is rumbling already.

Obviously no gardening will be going on today so having finally made up my mind that.... yes I will change the furniture round in the dining room DD is going to help me do that this afternoon.
Two pairs of hands on the job should mean it gets finished today but I won't be able to wash the curtains until they can be dried outside.
Once we're done we'll have tea and watch some more of the box set.

Hope your gardens are getting some happy rain.

  2. Mark has been wanting to seal the driveway with some stuff or other for a week but other jobs have taken priority. He was all ready to do it today but of course it's not stopped raining so I feel your pain with the drying - it's typical isn't it.

Your fish tea sounds delicious. Just the sort of thing I would wolf down and just the sort of thing Mark would look at and say "where's the batter and the chips" lol. xx

  3. It's been pouring down all day and our garden too is lapping it up. Yum fish, I just never seem to have it as I'm the only one who likes it, but your tea sounds so delicious. Have a lovely evening xx

  4. Lol, I wish I'd prepared a warm meal. I'd got a salad ready for when I came in from work. It felt rather disappointing and all I could think of was a nice pie with gravy! Eloise

    1. I must say that the hot meal was really nice as it went quite cold last night
Ooooh...don't get me started on pie and gravy. Might have to fetch some meat and make a couple of pies to put in the freezer in case we have any more chilly days-x-

  5. Tuesday it rained...then it rained harder, then it poured, then it emptied it down. And all throughout the night! x
