Teething Problems!!!

Things are a little calmer here today thank goodness and I can see light at the end of the tunnel....well I can if I look past all the muck and dust....lol.
The plumber and boiler fitter are here today doing a bit of tweaking as we found ourselves with no heating and no hot water last night.....all down to a plug that had fallen out somewhere inside the boiler when they put the cover back on yesterday.
All sorted now so the plumber is just removing redundant pipes and tanks this morning and once he is finished and gone I can start the big clean and tidy up. By the weekend we should be somewhere back to near normal.

The next big job will be removing the showering facilities in the bathroom and reinstalling a bath. I have hated being without a bath ever since we had it done. We may keep the shower over the bath as both Andy and DD like a shower.
I will warn the plumber that we will be calling again sometime soon.

I ended up having to cancel Ruby's tea date yesterday after all as we were just in such a mess so she is coming today. Can't wait to see her.

Marlene at Simple Living has some lovely photos of her garden coming to life after what seems like a very long winter. After all the hard work DD put in last year ours should really look better than it does but there are some pretty little daffodils just out and the alliums are sprouting so there is a bit going on out there. I am just desperately waiting to see if my 'new last year' peony has survived the wet and cold.

Well I'm feeling a bit phsychic today and forsee Marigolds and many buckets of hot soapy water in my immediate future so I'll go and crack on with it all once the plumber has finished.

Hope you are all having a fab day.

  1. I am so jealous of people having things growing as here in Michigan it will be a little while before we see anything growing - we have snow on the ground again today.

Good luck with the plumbing issues. I can't imagine being without a bath. I don't particularly like having showers. It probably stems from not having grown up with them. The house I was in didn't have a shower for a looonnng time lol. There's something calming about taking a bath.

    1. I'll swap you me daffodils for some snow any day Sharon...lol.
I hate showers....I don't know why I ever let Andy persuade me to change our bathroom into a shower room. It's been the worst thing we have ever done.
I am so looking forward to a Badedas bath by candle light-x-

  3. Muc better today - you can see light at the end of the tunnel.

It is easy to have a shower option installed over the bath. I'd definitely check into that option. I found it much quicker to pop into the shower when working and also to wash met hair. Now retired I still prefer rather than a bath.

Enjoy your time with Ruby today.

    1. Yes Sandy...feeling good today.

We used to have a bath with a shower over and I let Andy turn it into a shower room. I must have been mad as I am most definitely a bath girl.
Had great fun with me Ruby-x-

    1. Hot water is fine now just trying to get the heating right but it's lovely and warm when it's on.
There will definitely be a woodburner by next winter-x-

  5. The end is in sight Sheila - stick with it :) The only sign of life we have in the garden are some little shoots at the bottom of the clematis, which means I really should go out and cut the dead bits down I suppose.

I'm enjoying these lighter nights and the clocks go forward this month. Spring is nearly here. xx

    1. Sticking with it Suzanne and have got quite a bit done today.

We're going to look at planting a clematis this year. I have always fancied one.

For now I am enjoying having a bit more light at night but give me a few weeks and I will be wanting to put the clocks back again and go back into snuggle mode....lol-x-

  6. Thanks for the mention Shelia, how awful having no heating or hot water, it makes us appreciate how lucky we normally are doesn't it, so glad there is a light at the end of the tunnel, x

    1. Oh you're welcome Marlene...I loved your photos this morning.

It was cold as well last night so I just went and snuggled in bed with two hot water bottles and me fluffy socks on...lol-x-
