Daring Cardmakers-Embossing

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week.....set by Lythan.....is to use any type of embossing. I thought that as I stamp all the time I really ought to challenge myself to do some dry embossing but I really don't like doing it so don't have much in the way of stencils to do it with. Knocked that idea on the head then.
I have gone instead for an embossed background using a Cuttlebug folder and some dark card.
The BG has been skimmed over with a Brilliance Moonlight White ink pad and once dry it has been covered with Versamark ink and embossed using a standard clear embossing powder. I did two layers of that.
With it being ordinary cardstock it did curl quite a bit so I have used carpet tape to layer it onto a piece of very stiff backing card.
The medallion is a TandaStamps medieval image which has been stamped onto mountboard, coloured with Adirondack and triple embossed using a coarse powder.
Very simply matted onto a red card blank which IRL is a much nicer colour than the scan.

  2. I love the oriental feel to this card. You are not helping me stand up to my craving for cuttlebug dies are you? The embossing looks so effective. Oh and extra points for more than one kind of embossing!

  9. Both your embossed cards are great Sheila . Nice to see that chopping mat getting another outing and it looks really effective as flowers - the crystal EP has given them a lovely look. I like the moodiness of the red/black one, too.
