It looks like most of my day today will have been spent in the kitchen.
Andy decided he wanted Toad In The Hole for his lunch so I have just cooked that with some veg and gravy. The cheese and potato pie didn't get done yesterday as I came over all flopsadopsical and hadn't even the energy to peel the potatoes so that needs to be done today but won't get eaten until tomorrow.
Ruby is coming after school today so we are all having tomato soup with toasted cheese sandwiches.
Once I have washed up after tea I ain't going in there again until tomorrow.
I won't start on any sewing as it is surprising how quickly the time goes between Andy going to work and Ruby arriving so I'll just tidy and finish off some laundry and leave the sewing until tomorrow.
.....and that is about how interesting my day will be....lol.

Thank you for introducing me to a new word. I've never before heard of being 'flopsadopsical' which is strange as I do often seem to suffer from it myself. X

I am having a lazy day today, I seem to have caught the lurgy off the SO and it is still snowing, big fat flakes now. I often think that I should have the kitchen that I lived in as a child. A long room with the range at one end, big table in the middle and a fireplace and squishy sofas at the other end.

Lazy day here to, we have some braising beef and veg in the slow cooker along with some bread yes you guessed straight out of the break maker.

I had a bit of a 'domestic goddess' type of day. Washed and dried the dishes... we don't have a dishwasher. I cooked a huge pan of chicken balti this morning. This afternoon I sewed a big fluffy cushion cover. It has snowed all day,

I love pottering in our (tiny) kitchen. I'm always cooking and plating up extra ones for people - tonight's taker is eldest son on his way home as it's DIL's late night nursing shift. I even bought some spare charity shop plates as I never seem to get my "good" plates back 😂
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to look after Ruby every day I always cooked enough for DS and DDIL to have a hot meal to take home every day so four or five nights a week. I kind of miss that.
