Brave Little Girl!!!

Marlowe has been visited and I am now quite happy that the head injury she sustained on Saturday will heal and be forgotten in no time.
She has a bump with a cut on it which apparently bled profusely, a small cut under her eye and a bump and a bruise on the side of her head.
When we saw her yesterday she was happily chattering and singing.
I hope to goodness she is not going to take after her accident prone Daddy who must have spent more time at A&E in the first fifteen years of his life than he did at home.

Today is going to be a bit of a mish mash of all sorts with laundry to put away as it comes out of the dryer....no chance of line drying today as it is raining.
We are going to have a treat for tea tonight....egg and chips with some baked beans. Not something we have very often so I am looking forward to that.

I thought you might like to meet......

......Skylar and Ginger.
Ginger is very placid and loves cuddles but Skylar is a little more lively and makes Ruby a little nervous. He was trying to nibble her chin yesterday.

Well DD has just arrived back from The Lake District with a case full of muddy clothes so I will go and add all tat to my laundry pile.

Have a lovely day.

    1. They do move on don't they Marlene. DDIL was worried that Marlowe would remember it but I said that at 14 months old I doubt it very much.
Isn't Skylar a gorgeous name? No doubt from a programme she watches...I never thought to ask her-x-

  3. Glad you've seen Marlowe and she is fine. I hope Ruby gets used to both guinea pigs so that she isn't scared of either. Was you lunch out good after all the worry? I go to my knitting/crafty chat group tonight so I'd better go and look out something to do! Catriona

    1. She'll soon get used to Skylar I think if she handles him every time she visits.
Lunch out was lovely and Ruby surprisingly ate very well I'm glad to say.
Hope your craft night was fun-x-

  4. Egg, Chips and baked beans for tea, so very English! Miss my homeland.

Glad Marlowe is no worse for wear and Ruby over her fright.

Your daughter is lucky to come home and have her mum sort her washing out. My three used to bring home huge piles of washing from university and like you I got it sorted. Youngest son told me once that some of his mates were not allowed to bring dirty laundry home. You know what I miss those days.

Hope you get some sunshine tomorrow.

    1. Tea was lovely Sandy....good old fashioned homemade chips which beat frozen chips into a cocked hat.
I didn't mind sorting her washing as she had been away with friends.....hiking, a bit of booze and late nights....and she was shattered. She was in bed way before her Dad went to work at 9pm....lol.

  5. Ginger and Skylar are so sweet and I love the colour of them.

Glad to hear Marlowe is on the road to recovery. That's the beauty of little ones and accidents - they get over them quickly and they've not learned how to pull the wool over our eyes yet :)

I've had my fill of A&E with my two, a burnt finger, cut chin, broken leg, nasty bump to the head and Amy monitored overnight more times than I care to think about with her chest/possible asthma.

Gosh, really depressed myself thinking about all that again haha. xx

    1. I must admit that I am quite smitten with the giggly pigs Suzanne...lol.

Yes Marlowe was all smiley and cheeky monkeyish when we saw her yesterday. She must have a very tough head as she fell onto a tiled floor from quite a height scraping her head and cheek on a sharp door catch as she went down. She was very lucky it wasn't worse.

I think the last time I was at A&E with DS was when he was in his twenties after he had been playing silly buggers at a sleepover/bonfire party and he set his leg on fire. Gawd he was in a mess. I'm glad DDIL has responsibility for him now...lol.

    1. Yes she is grand now Sharon.
It was awful for DDIL though being on her own with one bleeding baby and an hysterical 7 year old.
I'm so proud of how she coped-x-

  8. We had egg, chips and beans too! Mostly because there was bugger all else in! But it's one of our favourite things - I ALWAYS ALWAYS though, think of Shirley Valentine when I'm standing frying the eggs!!
    Cute new arrivals x
