A Bit Of A Bind!!!

Andy is making up for last Sunday by cooking lunch today and doing my favourite roast chicken.
DD is out in the garden as it is lovely and sunny at the moment although it looks like it will rain before the day is out.
We have just got back from the garden centre where we have been to use a 50% off any pot coupon and a 20% off in the craft shop coupon. DD got her pot but they didn't have what I wanted in the craft shop. I did get a couple of things though so we both came back happy.

I am going to spend the afternoon making bias binding ready for my apron/dress as I need quite a few metres of it and then I shall have a look through the Sew Pretty Homestyle Tilda book I have just purchased and decide which of the delicious things in it that I would like to make.

It feels like we haven't had one of these slow and lazy Sundays in forever so I think we are all going to enjoy this one.
Hope you are all having a smashing Sunday too.

  1. Sounds like a perfect Sunday Sheila, especially if Andy is doing the cooking. Seems to be a long one for us as well which is nice. I do like a day that stretches out rather than whizzes by. Enjoy yourself. xx

  2. I always find it fascinating reading your blog and aspirational. I am impressed at anyone who makes bias binding. Also I am envious that you are near to a garden centre with a craft shop included!

    1. Aww thanks Lyssa.....but you too can make bias binding. I found a fabulous tutorial on You Tube which I will link in my post tomorrow. A fat quarter and two seams and you have five metres of binding. Really easy.

The garden centre isn't too bad but the craft shop isn't up to much really. A very tiny section of haberdashery and no fabric unless it is in a kit or a prepack. The rest is wool, cardmaking and more papier mache than you can shake a stick at...lol-x-

  3. A lovely relaxing day for you. Jealous! Chicken just went in the crock pot to roast all day. We have to take little guy in to town to buy a birthday gift, then drop him off at the party, hang out in town for 2.5 hours, pick him up and then stop at a friends to see the progress on our front dates for the driveway. Home to finish dinner, Call the Midwife, then Big Little Lies, then The Good Fight and by then, we'll be so tired, falling in to bed will be our last task of the day! Have a great day. X Chy

    1. I know how you feel Chy. DS and DDIL spend most of their weekends ferrying Ruby about to her various social engagements.
      Hope the chicken was good-x-

    1. I don't mind sewing it on too much although it just depends how many fiddly bits I have to go round-x-
