What Is It?

There is a very strange light here this morning...oh....yes....sunshine.
Ha....ha....ha....I had almost forgotten what it looks like.
DD is outside pottering in the garden and Andy is out fixing new finials to the posts on the garden steps so it's a hive of activity here.
Amazing what a bit of sun can do.

After over twenty years of waking up in a cold house we are now waking up to a warm one and it is absolute bliss. I got to have a shower in a warm bathroom this morning and it was awesome.

I am just having a pottering kind of day today...putting things back in their rightful places now the work is finished  and stuff like that.
Last night I unpicked the row of the doggy quilt that hadn't quite gone right and I shall be finishing that this afternoon once everywhere is tidy and I may even make a cake for tea tomorrow.

What are you all up to this weekend?
Whatever it is I hope you have a lovely one.

  1. I'm so pleased your work is finished and you can enjoy your lovely warm house, far less work for you too without that coal fire. Enjoy it, you deserve it. x

  4. It's amazing what a little sunshine can do. I know it makes me feel better. We were certainly lacking for sunshine from about November to mid February so when I went to visit daughter I was really happy there was sunshine even though temperatures were -18C or so. Made me feel happier just to see blue skies!

    Have a great weekend

    1. We didn't really get a blue sky today which was a shame but at least we got some sun and it stayed dry....until tea time-x-

  6. Glad you like your new central heating system. Worth the mess and aggravation! Although we have central heating we added additional heating in a unit in the ceiling in both bathrooms. This works well for those times when it is not cold enough for the central heating but you would like extra heat in the shower/bath.

    1. It's fabulous now we have the hang of it Sandy.
Extra heating in the bathroom sounds good and we will be having some work done in there soon so I might mention that to Andy-x-

  7. Ah yes...a warm bathroom...lovely...the only room we have our heating on in generally as the woodburner is enough for downstairs and none of us likes it too warm in our bedrooms. x

    1. I don't like heat in the bedroom either Jackie so the heating is set to go off at 9pm in the week and 10pm at weekends to give it time to cool down a bit-x-
