A Dress For Miss Marly Moo!!!

Yesterday was one of those days you wish you could have every day.
The sky was blue and the sun was shining. The back door was open right up until teatime so Smudge was very happy. Katy Perry was playing loud on the CD player and I was singing (luckily my neighbours are all out at work) and sewing all afternoon.
Buttonholes were practiced and mastered and the little dress for Marlowe was finished.........

I adore this retro print fabric even though it's not 100% cotton but this is only a practice piece to test for fit. I am hoping that it will be slightly too big so that I can make a few more for her for that will fit her by the summer.
The fabric has been in my stash for a while now so what is left will be cut into squares which I will pair with some tiny red gingham and maybe some plain red to make a picnic quilt.

........and that was pretty much all I did yesterday.
Today I will cut up the rest of the fabric ready for when I can get to Derby to pick up some gingham.

This time next week DD and I will be in the queue waiting to get into the NEC and I can't wait.

Hope you all have some lovely things planned for the weekend.

    1. That's what I thought when I saw the pattern Trudie. Nice simple pop over dresses. Quick and easy to wash and dry-x-

  2. Great sew! Is it a poly/cotton mix? It should wash well and not need too much ironing.I have to re learn buttonholing on the sewing machine every time. The method just does not seem to stick in my brain,

I managed the buttonholes for this but not sure what they would be like if I had to do them in a row-x-

  6. What a beautiful dress. I love the fabric. I'm jealous that your day was so warm and sunny. We're back down to below freezing again. Temps are supposed to be below freezing most of the weekend. Sigh.
