I Can't Wait To Sew.......!!!

......with all this gorgeousness......

A whole summer wardrobe on one pattern.

Beautiful summery cotton prints.

Quilting inspiration and my lovely new address book.

All I need now is a bit of time to myself and that could happen next week when DD is back at work and Andy will be working three days. I will be working like a demon at the weekend to make sure that all the big jobs are done so that I can take the scissors to the fabric on Monday. I am soooooo excited.

I've been a bit worried about Smudge so Andy has taken him to the vets this morning. Apparently he has kennel cough......he has never been in a kennel in all his life so how on earth did he get that?
Medicine has been prescribed so hopefully that will do the trick.

Decidedly murky here this morning. Very grey and very wet so it looks like DD's plans for doing things in the garden are scuppered. We have clay soil and it is just too nasty to work on when it is as wet as it is now.

Tea tonight will be roast beef and all the trimmings. I managed to freeze some meat in gravy from a previous roast so all I have to do is some veg, roasties and Yorkshires to go with it.

DD has just done us a bacon roll for lunch so I will go and have that before I start prepping the veg.

Sorry for my dismal post yesterday.

Hope you are all having a warm and cosy day today.

  1. Such a great pattern and the fabrics are stunning. I am not sure I would be able to restrain myself from starting on it straightaway. Soup and a sandwich for us I feel awful with some sort of flu type bug.

  2. When I am sewing I need peace and quiet so that I can concentrate. Looks like a fairly simple pattern though so I can see a garment a day emerging from the machine...hopefully.
Oh no you haven't gone and caught the nasty lurgy that's going round. I do feel for you. Take care of yourself and get better soon.
    Sending you some warm hugs-x-

  5. What sweet fabrics - perfect for the dress pattern. I know what you mean about having to be alone to see. I hate it when the HG pops in the craft room to chat when I'm sewing! He makes me do wobbly seams!!!
I'm a bit like poor Smudge with his kennel cough - totally baffled when I got Atheletes Foot!!!

    1. Lovely aren't they....I could have bought so much more but resisted and felt very virtuous.
Laughing at you and your Athletes Foot. You really brighten my day.

  7. I love all the fabrics you've chosen. Marlowe is going to look fabulous in her new dresses. Will you be making the sunhats to match as well?

I had a look in The Works today but nothing took my fancy. Typical isn't it, I have a gift voucher burning a hole in my pocket but nothing appeals to me.

What a shame your DD can't get on with her gardening. Let's hope it clears up a bit so she can get out there and enjoy her time off work. xx

  8. Hi Sheila, sorry to hear that Smudge is under the weather. Kennel cough is not the real name for his problem, it is actually 'canine cough' and is an airborn virus, probably caught when Smudge met a friend while out on a walk. My DH and I ran a boarding kennel before we retired so we are aware that kennels are often blamed for this condition. Not that you are saying that of course.
I love your fabrics and can understand your urgency to get cutting out. Your grand daughters are lucky to have such a lovely Nanna.
