10.000........Cor Blimey!!!

THIS BLOG CANDY DRAW IS NOW CLOSED
THANKS TO ALL WHO TOOK PART
THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY EVENING

I cannot believe that I have reached the 10,000 mark on my hit counter........but I don't think I will demand a recount......lol!!!
So this calls for a celebration and a bit of Blog Candy methinks. What do you say?
Yes?.......OK then.
What I will offer is for the winner to choose their most favourite card/technique from my blog, including any posted up to the closing date and I will make up a pack based on that card/technique. This will include card blanks, stamped images and a few extra bits. Unfortunately I will be unable to include any noxious chemicals. These will have to be added by the winner.
To win all you have to do is tell me.....
Your most favourite crafting item.
It can be an essential tool or a favourite stamp you keep going back to.....anything.
Leave your comments on this post only.Closing date will be midnight on Sunday June 3rd 2007.
Come and play......wherever you are in the world.

Todays cards are some that I have made using some paper from a DCWV pack and a very simple stamping technique using an Adirondack ink pad.
I get so involved sometimes with all the more complicated techniques that it is nice to do something quite simple and easy.
The flower and the car have just been stamped in Stonewash Adirondack onto smooth white card. I then allowed the ink to dry a little before taking a water brush and drawing in some of the colour from the outline to fill in the design.
If you don't have a water brush just use a damp paint brush.
The flower has been enclosed in a metal rimmed tag using the MM Tag Maker but you could just as easily mount it onto a square of silver card. I used ribon over the join in the papers and stamped a simple greeting using a Stazon ink pad in Midnight Blue.
The car has been cut out and attached with foam pads and the Thin Cuts Gear die cuts have been attached with eyelets and a piece of ribbon has been attached with a brad.
Have to say that I am pretty chuffed with how these turned out and I love these two paper designs which I also have in a gorgeous green that I am eager to use.
Well despite having had a sleep when I got in from work I am still pretty tired so I think I will go and have a read and then catch some more zeds. Got a busy day ahead so need to be on form.
Bye for now

  1. Hello! I'm Cheryl from Madison, Wisconsin, USA. My favorite crafting item is my stamp-a-ma-jig. I can stamp straight images (believe me, without it, I'd have a lot in the trash can)! I love your creations! Thanks!

  2. Hi Sheila,
My favouite?..... LOADS, I guess it would have to be my fiskars paper trimmer as I'm left handed and can't cut straight for toffee! It has a pull out arm to enable you to cut 12x12 so I love that.
I too love all your work! Would have a hard job deciding on a fav.
    Love Ali xxxxx

  3. Ooh my favourite item changes quite a bit, but at the moment I think it is a 'pattern tracer' from my local sewing shop. It's a wheel with spikes on it( sounds like an item for torture!) and I use it to score my card and paper to make my handstitching evenly spaced. I use it all the time.

  12. Congrats on your hits!
I would have to say that the item I use pretty much every time I stamp is the stamp-a-ma-jig. I had a corneal transplant and it helps me to stamp straight. I guess I would call it my favorite.

  21. First Sheila congrats on the hits. Why are you surprised?? Love the 2 latest cards, but then love your blog anyway.

My favourite tol would have to be the 'pokey tool' Awful name! - but .. you can use it for so much, getting the backing up from double sided tape, making holes where you want brads, placing peel offs, holes for faux stitching ... you get the idea by now.

  22. Hello Sheila. My favourite item (or items) are my distress inks. I use them on almost every project, using the watercolour technique. You can never predict the outcome so it's always exciting what colour combinations come out. They're also useful for defining the edges of work. Yummy!
Looks like you enjoy them too!

  25. My favourite craft item has to be my hubby. He fetches my card and blanks from the wholesalers and makes things like my sewing machine appear from nowhere........and they are all free because I never give him any money!! HIm apart, it would have to be my small Creative Memories guillotine. I use it all the time.

Love the cards Sheila. The paper is really pretty.

  26. Congrats on the blog count, Sheila, I know I stop off here daily as I love your work!
To play your game, my favourite crafting item is my boring 12" guillotine, or maybe my Herma adhesive runner. It's the unseen, behind the scenes items we all can't live without! My favourite card of yours is the stazon/ alcohol on silver Mirri card with the face, it's so striking. Hard choice, though!
    Here's to the next 10,000!!

  27. Congratulations Sheila! the item I use the most is my pokey tool, but that doesn't seem glamorous enough to be a favourite, so give me a quickie glue pen and a pot or 6 of glitter and I'm a happy gal! I've taken inspiration from so many of your cards and techniques, and you got me trying out funky foam with stamps and rub-on wax. Look forward to seeing loads more of your work. Love Annie x

  35. Wow! What an awesome idea for blog candy. I love getting images and stuff that I don't own myself so this could be a really fun win!

Right now my favorite crafting item is probably designer paper. This is because I used to think that designer paper was jsut for scrapbooking and thus, that is how I used it. But so many people use it so beautifully on their cards that I have found true inspiration and courage (what? vut my 12 x 12 paper?!)

Thanks for the chance at this candy! I off to peruse your blog some more!

I found your blog thanks to Allsion at Stampin' When I can!

  37. Hey there,

I have so many tools that are musts. Paper trimmer, scorer, bone folder, and tweezers. I guess the most important are my acrylic blocks. Without them I couldn't stamp. I guess a favorite would be the Click-It. It punches holes and sets eyelets anywhere. Very versatile. Love that.

    Smiles,
    NG.

  38. Hello! I love the card with the car! Excellent colours!

As simple as this sounds, if I count the favourite as the most used it would have to be the paper trimmer. I can't cut a straight line to save my life! I was tempted to say coluzzle but I am sill having a hard time using it!
