Well at least he is round here.
This has been the view from my window for half an hour this morning.......
The biggest flakes we have had so far and now it has stopped and the sun is coming out so it will either melt or blow away when the wind gets up.
I am so over it now. I love it but I want the proper stuff.
It is colder here today though so with that in mind there is a pan of minced beef and onions simmering away on the stove. Half will be cottage pie for tea tonight as Ruby will be here and she does so love cottage pie. The rest I will add some veg to and make it into a stew to serve up with some dumplings tomorrow.
After tidying up in the sewing room yesterday I sat and drew out my plan for the next quilt. I was hoping to make a start on cutting up the fabric but it got too dark by the time I had done a couple of other jobs and cooked the tea. Andy has promised me a new light when he is off for the week at Easter.
The bookcases were put on the list for the weekend until I realised that I will be out for most of it doing Ganma duties and looking after my girls while Mummy is on call for a few hours so that job is now shufted over to next week. I could do it today but it will involve making a mess which I won't have time to clear up properly before Ruby gets here.
They're not going anywhere so next week will do....lol.
OK.....I think a nice cup of tea is in order before I do anything else.
Stay safe and warm if your beast is more beastly than ours.

Where Is It Then?!!!
Today is supposed to be our day for snow and what do we have....blue skies and sunshine.
Admittedly there are a few heavy looking clouds scudding across but that is it.....and I don't think it's even that cold outside.
Oooooh update on that.....it has just started snowing quite heavily.
I should be sorting out the two bookcases in the living room today. One wants emptying and moving out and the other needs a good tidy up but ya know what....I just can't be bothered with it...lol. Instead I have some sorting out to do in the sewing room. Part jelly rolls need re-rolling and I have some batting pieces that want piecing together to make usable pieces. There is a pile of fabric waiting to be cut ready for my next quilt and some unfinished projects to be bagged up and stored to be finished at a later date of which most are awaiting fabric purchases when I can find what I want. Looking at the list of traders for the quilt show at the racecourse I am sure I will find something there as there are some really good traders signed up to take stands.
Breakfast for tea tonight as I have some bacon and some eggs that want using up. Andy will be very happy about that.
Hope you are all having a warm and snuggly day.

All Sewn Up!!!
Well the skill trade worked very well yesterday. I got a lovely lunch in exchange for a neck cushion and a little mat for Smudge to lie on.
I used a remnant of fabric from Dunelm £1.50 big enough to do the front and back and some offcuts of wadding.
The bone motif was a bit of an afterthought so isn't as neat as I would have liked but Smudge dog likes it.
After a couple of evenings using our new furniture we are very happy with our choices. We have gone for smaller pieces in a black leather look finish....a small sofa and two gorgeous armchairs. Andy has one of those bentwood armchairs that feels like you are going to fall through the wall when you sit on it. Not quite my thing but he likes it.
We also bought a nest of two coffee tables...one for between the two armchairs and the smaller one goes by Andy's chair so now there is somewhere for us all to put our drinks.
The next thing is to decorate so I am now looking at wallpaper for the chimney breast wall and two different colours of paint for the rest of the walls but I won't be starting any of that until the weather warms up enough to have the windows open as I can't stand the smell of new paint.
Today I am doing a bit of cooking and making a curry from scratch. Heaven knows what it will taste like but I wanted something hot and filling for DD to come home to after being out in this biting wind and snow.
We don't have much snow today....according to the weather forecast we will be getting more tomorrow and then small amounts for the rest of the week.
Right....I am off to prep everything for this curry and make Andy a drink before he goes to bed to get his sleep in before his night shift.
Stay warm and safe everyone.

Ticketty Boo!!!
Thank you all so much for your get well wishes. I have recovered from whatever it was that me sick although I'm still not sure if it was something I ate or just a 24 hour stomach bug thing.
So sorry for not posting yesterday but it was a super busy day.
Andy and I were up early and out to get to Ikea and crikey me....the whole place is in uproar. They are changing everything round and the entrance wasn't where it was the last time I went, the restaurant has been moved temporarily and things squished into different places.
I am so glad I went with a list and didn't need to browse and apart from the six metres of fabric that landed in me trolley the list was adhered to.
Back home and the two old sofas were turfed out onto the front lawn, the new furniture bought in and built and voila a new look living room which will also get a coat of paint and new curtains in a few weeks when DD is on annual leave.
Andy has had an armchair of his own choosing and but needs a neck pillow for the optimum tv watching head position and Smudge needs a comfy pad to lay on as he is making out that he can't jump up onto the sofa....although he can when nobody is looking...lol.
So today I have done a trade.....Andy is cooking lunch and I am sewing the cushion and the pad from some stash fabric.
There was a hard frost this morning but now the sun is out and the wind is blowing. It looks like it will be a nice day.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

It All Went Downhill !!!
I had a lovely afternoon/evening with Ruby yesterday.
Heard all about the trip to London and the theatre which she thoroughly enjoyed.
A lovely meal out at The Wing Wah Chinese buffet......Ruby's most favourite place to eat.
We dropped her home afterwards and I went to bed pleasantly tired and expecting a good night of sleep. I managed until 2am then woke with the most dreadful stomach pains and spent pretty much the rest of the night in the bathroom. I am exhausted this morning.
Today Andy has had to take Smudge to the vet as what we thought was a chest infection....which did clear for a while after a course of antibiotics......has come back. The vet now thinks that it is his heart and they have also discovered that he is going blind. My poor, poor little boy.
With the Cushings under control now we had thought that things were looking up. His coat is back to it's usual glossy gorgeousness and his little eyes are as bright as buttons again.
Now he is on four lots of medication and I am dreading trying to get those down him as he is not a fan of tablets.
I think me and my boy will just have a quiet day today. I feel the need to give him lots of cuddles and attention and to be honest I don't feel like doing much else so a cup of tea and a bit of daytime telly sounds like a good plan.
Just want to say a huge thank you to Pam for the Thangles. I will try them out and let you know how I get on. I'm excited to see if I will finally be able to do decent triangles.
Hope you all have a good day.
