Manic The Plank!!!

OK......so I think the heat has addled my brain now. I took pics of the golden wedding cards to blog tonight and sorted them out on the computer. Grabbed the giggle stick and nipped in to have a shower on the way down. Now I am sat here with no pictures on the stick because I forgot to transfer them. What a plank!!!
So I have to blog another couple of 'Bitsa' cards which are already on the hard drive down here because I just cannot go back up two flights of stairs.....it is sooooo hot up there.
Huge apologies.
Anyhoo.....papers are all DCWV. Cupcake is a Sizzlet die and teddy is Papermania. I hate teddies but I've been asked for cutie cards so cutie cards I have done.

I am just going to sit here and veg for half an hour and then I think I will have an early night.
Thanks for dropping by.

It's Snowing!!!

Another white card. This time with a tiny touch of blue in the gingham ribbon and the gemstone.
I was going to take pics of the anniversary cards I finished off but man has it been dark up there today. We have had a belting thunder storm and torrential rain with howling wind. It got so bad that hubby had to go out and take down the gazebo before it flew off somewhere. No kidding....at one point the rain was horizontal as it lashed across the back garden. It hasn't cooled the air much though.
DD finished her very last stint of nine night shifts this morning and I am so relieved as it was really getting her down. She has a week off now and then she will go onto a straight seven on and seven off pattern which will be so much better.
The little angel went into town when she got up and she came back with two new Adirondack Lights ink pads and a couple of sheets of gorgeous paper for me........and totally forgot to buy what she actually went into town for........a DVD that was due out today. Something called The Unborn which I shall so NOT be watching. I've had enough frights for one day thank you very much. While it was thundering DD came into my workroom while I was looking out of the window and because the rain was beating so hard on the roof I didn't hear her. I turned around from the window and there she was. Well I screamed and just about gave her a heart attack and myself as well.......then we both collapsed in a heap of giggles. God I love that girl!!!
Just had a nice cold shower so I am going to curl up with a coffee before I go and clear the desk off ready for work when I get back from the shop tomorrow. I really need to do some stamping so if the desk is clear I will get some done.
I'll stop waffling now.
Thanks for dropping by.

I Need Ink!!!

I'm getting fed up of doing twiddly cards now.....lol........and I really need to get my hands inky. Unfortunately I have to finish off three golden wedding cards before I can do that. I'm not at work tomorrow so I should get the chance then.
These are more 'Bitsa' cards. I have made heaps of them today and they have gone some way to filling up the box to go down to the local shop. Plus I have used up lots of bits and bobs of stuff that needed using.
I think the spotty flowers were Doodlebug and the felt flowers were free from a magazine. Papers DCWV and MM.

Well I had best get back to work.
Thanks for dropping by.

It's Still June!!!

Despite my love of strong colour I do have another love.........pure white. Now for me the Goddess of White has to be Sue Nelson. Not all of her cards are pure white but the ones she does are utter perfection.
I have used one of her cards as inspiration for today's card which is all made from card embossed in Cuttlebug folders. The torn edges and the houses are highlighted with Frosted Lace Stickles.

I have had a very peaceful day today but have only managed about half an hour upstairs as I decided to bite the bullet and tackle the ironing while DD was in bed and DH was out helping his friend. Four flaming hours I stood at the ironing board. DD's jeans are a nightmare as she wears those horrible baggy things covered in pockets and I must have ironed about 30 t shirts. I also cooked a Chilli and bathed the dog so tomorrow I am having the day off as I have been very domestic over the last couple of days. I am going to spend all day up in my work room and will only come out when hubby shouts me down for dinner......lol!!!

It's been weird weather here today. The morning mist never lifted until just around tea time and it's been eerily quiet on the estate..........that's no bad thing though.....lol!!!

Tonight I watched I Am Legend with hubby........it still made me cry and he still laughs at me crying at films. Felt like hitting him with the poker but I resisted....lol!!!

Off to have a game of Fowl Words before I shuffle off to bed.......just helps to keep the old brain cells from dessicating.

Thank for your visit.

It's June.........So It Must Be........!!!

Christmas.........yay!!!
Trying to build up a selection of quick and easy Christmas cards for workshops at the moment and what could be quicker and easier than the good old Cuttlebug.
This is an 8x8 which I love working on.
The nice crusty finish on the snowflake is Fluffy Stuff which I sprinkled with frosty white glitter before heating.

Having a nice peaceful day today. Just pottering about doing laundry and stuff then when hubby gets home to take our Smudge out for his walk I shall shoot off upstairs and play.
First I am going to play about with the banner I have downloaded to match my blog background and then finish off some cards I started last night. Then I might just have a session with the new Inkadinkado stamps I came home with last night........four flippin' sets. I must have about thirty sets now..........lol!!!

Right off to put another load in......last one for today.
Thanks for dropping by.

Wedding Card!!!

Today's card is one I made for the class this morning. The heart is handcut chipboard covered with paper, pierced and then faux stitched with a white pen.
The scalloped heart is also handcut from plain white card and then grunged with a little brown chalk.
I have set myself a goal of using items that we have maybe had in for a while with a view to giving them a new lease of life so the 'love' word is one inch tall clear peeloff letters with a silver border put onto pink paper but joined together rather than individually and then cut out.
Papers are Basic Grey.

I am off upstairs now to play although I feel more like crashing out on the bed. It has been so warm today and me no likey. It makes me tired and cranky. Still I'll put the fan on full blast and get to work.

Thanks for dropping by.

Yay......A Card!!!

Evening all.
Well at last I have something to post.........just to show I haven't given up cardmaking altogether.......lol!!!
I think this tree stencil by Dreamweaver is just gorgeous but I just cannot get into the paste stuff that can be used with them. So here I have used a technique I saw on a Dreamweaver DVD using Micro Beads, Glitter and double sided adhesive sheet. Not too bad for a first attempt.
The cardstock is of course Core'dinations......just sanded lightly and I have used some silver peeloff corners and lines.
This one is for a class tomorrow so I hope the ladies enjoy it.

Have to say that I am starting to flag a bit now and am ready for my week off next month. I was off yesterday........slightly indisposed.......and even though I wasn't too well I really enjoyed being at home when I shouldn't have been. Hubby got a roast dinner out of it so he was well chuffed.......lol!!!

I've given myself the night off tonight and am going to do a bit of blog hopping for a while.
Back tomorrow with another card.
Bye for now.

Sad Time!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts over the last few days but I had an urgent order in for symapthy cards. Not one of my favourite kinds of card to make but especially these as they will mostly go to the family of a local young farmer who passed away at the weekend.
My heart goes out to his family and his fiancee.

I should be back at the weekend with something if I get chance to play. I have a busy day today as I have to nip to the garden centre and pick out a tree to give to hubby for Father's Day and then I have to shampoo the lounge carpet, make marinades for Saturday's BBQ, turf out the shed to find the second patio furniture set and give it a wipe down and then do my normal cleaning and stuff. Hubby.......very conveniently.........is working late today and then will be out until late afternoon on Saturday......anything to get out of helping.....lol!!!

Bye for now.

They Made Me Do It!!!

So here is the decoupage I did.
People who do this all the time have my undying admiration for their patience in doing all that cutting out. I chose a picture that wasn't all that fiddly and it just about made my eyes bleed.
Still apart from the glaringly obvious mistakes where I should maybe have done an extra layer I was quite happy with the result......for an amateur.

It's been a tad warm for me at the shop today and I forgot to take my cooling spray that my mate Gert gave me so I have just sat behind the counter and done the prep for Thursdays' class. Hope the weather holds though as we are having a birthday BBQ for DS on Saturday and I would hate it to be a washout.

After tea I have some card packing to do. I called in at the local shop this morning and the stands are looking pretty bare so best get some ready to take down tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by.

Doin' What I Gotta!!!

Hi Folks
Most of this weekend has been spent catching up on card orders and other 'must do' things rather than being able to play.
Most of the oreders have been rather personal to the clients so I am not able to show those. The one I am finishing off at the moment I will be able to show tomorrow and it's a proper shocker.............decoupage...........not a huge favourite of mine but the brief for the order led me in that direction. Plus it's an A4 card which I have never done before.

I did go out with hubby yesterday for a ride out and yes I did do a bit of crafty shopping but it was mostly boring things like envelopes and bags.
I took him for a drink at a pub he likes and then we had a car picnic at Morrison's in Derby. It was so nice to get out of the house and away from work for a bit.

Today I have been up in my room being slowly driven mad by the noise of drills, mowers, hammers, mini motorbikes, power saws........you name it and it has been in use somewhere on the estate at some point today. Whatever happened to peaceful Sunday's.

Anyhoo......I'm off for a bath and then to get ready for work tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by.

Black & White Christmas Collage Card!!!

Sorry to be posting Christmas again but this is what I have been doing lately.
For this card I have used images from three of the Inkadinkado clear stamp sets which I just love.
The card is 8x8 and the images are stamped in black Versafine then embellished with Stickles-Turquoise for a very simple but effective style.

Had a busy day at the shop today with two deliveries of gorgeous goodies which I managed to get priced up and put out. As usual it was some for me and some for the shop as I priced them.......heaven knows what my bill will be like tomorrow......lol!!!
We now have the beautiful packs of paper flowers from Woodware in all colourways.
Our delivery of Graphic 45 papers was very disappointing as we only received four designs of the twenty plus that we ordered......the rest being out of stock and now on back order.
Deb ordered a MM Slice for us to have a play with but I didn't even unwrap it today.
We had a box missing but when it turns up we will have stock of Low Odour Thinners and paper stumps for use with the pencil crayon technique we know as 'the Gamsol technique'.
We are re-stocked now on the beautiful Poinsettia and Scarlet Core'Dinations ready for Christmas and for the ladies waiting for it we now also have Nightfall back in stock.

I didn't wake up full of beans this morning........I felt more like a tin of slugs.....lol!!!......and with a wowzing headache so obviously I had too much sleep. One day I will get the balance just right.

Anyhoo......I am away for a cuppa with hubby and then I might just go and have a fiddle with my Promarkers now that my Memento inks have arrived. What's the betting all my card is wrong now.........lol!!!

Thanks for dropping by.

Sleepy!!!

I was so tired when I got in from work tonight that I had my tea and then fell asleep on the sofa until 10pm...........so unfortunately I missed the light to take a photo of the card I have to share.
It will have to be done tomorrow now.
Still tired so I am off to my bed and will hopefully wake up full of beans in the morning.
Bye for now.

More For Dad!!!

Another couple of cards for Father's Day. This time they are made with images from PC Crafter. The set is called Sail Away and originally I bought it to make decorative things for my bathroom but that ended up being completely different to how I wanted it so I have never used it.
These cards are 8x8 as were the ones I posted yesterday.

Very disappointed with the results on The Apprentice last night. I so wanted Kate to win.

Have quite a few jobs I want to get done tonight so now tea and washing up are out of the way I had better go and get on. Trouble is I just am not in the mood and would like to spend the evening just chillin' but that won't earn me a living.
Ah well.........away to the grindstone.
Thanks for dropping by.

Cards For Dad!!!

Today I have been making Father's Day cards ready to go to the local shop tomorrow and these are just a couple of them using Basic Grey papers from the Archaic collection..........not that I wanted to use it mind you but it was just perfect with these images.
The top image is from Vintage Workshop and the bottom one is from a CD I bought from Crafty Computer Paper. Both are printed onto some linen textured card.

Well for saying the year started off so badly for us it looks as if should end pretty nicely with my daughter in law pregnant and now we have had some great news from my brother in law who lives in South Africa that he is coming over for Christmas this year. We haven't seen him for 12 years so it will be a fabulous time.

I've worked my little fingers to the bone today so that I can sit and watch The Apprentice later...........GO KATE!!!...........YOU CAN DO IT GIRL!!!
Just off for a bath and then I can relax for a couple of hours before I go and finish packing and labelling.

Thanks for dropping by.

How Wrong Is This?!!!

As I had done a softly coloured card for the lace class I decided to do a more vibrant one for the second card. Well there is vibrant and there is downright too much. This one falls into the latter category methinks so in the class I replaced the green with pearlised silver and it looked much better. I also replaced the lace I used here with a slightly more modern looking one.
If I remember to bring it home on Monday I'll take a picture of it.

I'm posting quite early today as DD and I are off out for a ride this afternoon. She has just done a five night, night shift and only has two days off before doing a seven so she likes to feel that she has done something on her two days off. Also I need some ribbon........yes I kid you not. I don't have any in the right colour for the baby boy cards I did yesterday.

Postie has been and delivered the Promarkers I ordered this morning to add to the ones DD picked up for me last week. Such yummy colours. I am practising with them in spare moments and so far I absolutely love them. None of my black ink pads work that well with them though so I am colouring black and white stuff off the computer which is working just fine until I get my Memento inks I ordered last night.

Well I had best go and put the next lot of washing in the tumble dryer. No chance of getting it dry outside today.

Hope the rain isn't spoiling your weekend.
Bye for now.

Lace and Roses!!!

This is a card I designed for this months classes using lace and handmade roses. I didn't think the Brilliance Pearlescent Crimson went very well with the colour of the ribbon so have since changed the colour scheme to cream and brown which looked lovely.........but I forgot to bring the card home to take a picture.

Today I have been making baby cards for the local shop and blow me if I didn't get a phone call from my son tonight to let me know that I am going to be a grandma. Mmmm.........it's going to take me a while to get used to that idea.......lol!!!

My foot is so much better now. Thank you so much to all the kind people who e mailed me with good wishes.

I'm off to phone DD and let her know that she is going to be an aunty.

Bye for now

Totally Toasted!!!

Help me...............I'm melting.......lol!!!
Ooooh I do not like this flippin' heat....not one little bit. I feel like I have been toasted and I have barely been outside in it.
Since I got in from work I have been up in my room with the fan on full blast but now hubby has gone up to bed I have to switch it off as he says he can hear it and it bothers him so I've come downstairs where there is just a tad more air flowing around.

Today I am posting another card with a cut and folded front. A little simpler than yesterday's.
The paper is Basic Grey and the stamped images are Inkadinkado.
The butterfly has been stamped onto yellow card with Versamark and then embossed with Crystal EP. Once cool I ran over it with a Rust Brown StazOn ink pad and then wiped it with a tissue to remove the ink from the embossing.I also stamped it straight onto the paper so I didn't have to cut around the antennae. Flowers were stamped in the same ink and the centres dotted with yellow Stickles.

I am off to get my self a glass of somefing kewl and bubbly.......only Coke I'm afraid. Crikey....anything stronger and I would never get up for work this side of Christmas.
Thanks for dropping by.

Shiny Bright!!!

I was at the shop by myself today and once I had the prep done for tomorrow's class I thought I would have a play with these rock star peeloffs from Woodware.......and if you are playing with peeloffs you might as well go the whole hog and do bright and shiny.......lol!!!
So........silver rock star and chain peeloffs and red and blue mirror card which is more of a satin finish rather than mirror.
The peeloffs have been put onto the coloured card and the cut out.....yes I am THAT mad........lol!!!
This is an 8x8 card with a cut and folded front. I think it would make a good 18th or 21st card for a fella.
Tonight I am working on cards with lace and handmade roses so they will be posted later this week.......well if they are fit to be seen.

The foot is getting better at last. It's still a bit sore when I have shoes on and I am glad to get home and kick them off at the end of the day. I think leaving the dressing off all weekend really helped.

Just started reading some books by Matthew Reilly. They are adventures along the lines of Indiana Jones.......you know ancient relics, tombs and traps. Very exciting stuff and I am sneaking off for a bath as I have just started on the second one. I will probably emerge at 1am looking like a prune........lol!!!

Thanks for visiting today.
Bye for now.
