Daring Cardmakers-Beads

Here's what's going on over at Daring Cardmakers today.

WOW! We so enjoyed seeing all your cards for this weeks LE as well as your fantastic creations for Rhi's dare. Every week we are blown away by the amazing talent and creativity that we see.
Well this week is my dare (Saffa). Its quite a simple challenge really. All I ask is that you make use of beads on your cards. They can be seed beads, big chunky beads or little sequins, whatever takes your fancy. We can't wait to see your designs....I hope you don't go all beady eyed by the end of the week!!

Well I set to work and got these two cards done in ten minutes.......ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

No I didn't really.........I have the priviledge to be the Guest Designer this week and have been working on these cards for the challenge which is why I haven't got much else done.

The scans are not fantastic but I am slowly coming to grips with the digital camera so hopefully things will improve in the future.

For the blue card I have stamped the Clarity Stamp image onto mountboard and coloured using my trusty Adirondacks and then covered the piece with a fantastic new (to me) product called Glass Beads by Liquitex.......tiny glass beads in an adhesive which dries clear and gives the most fabulous effect over stamped images.
The background is just a piece of printed paper coloured with the same inks and partially overstamped with a paisley stamp by Personal Impressions.
A sheer ribbon threaded through small silver beads has been added to the side.

The image for the black and orange card started off the same way.....stamped onto mountboard and coloured with inks but this time I triple embossed it and added a product called Beadazzles. These are tiny gold beads with little chips of copper glitter.
The large flower stamp is by Elusive Images and has been stamped onto some chipboard and coloured. I then cut it in half and triple embossed each piece.

I don't normally 'do' beads so this one really made me get my thinking cap on and I enjoyed it immensely.

Daring Cardmakers-Little Extra-Love

How lucky that I have been putting the finishing touches to some wedding cards this morning as the Little Extra dare from Daring Cardmakers is for a love themed card.
I only tend to make very simple wedding cards as I don't like making them very much and only do them when desperate for the stand at the local shop. I don't know why I don't like doing them as I love weddings.
Anyway I have started with a strip of pink pearlised card and layered a tag over it which has been stamped with a flourish border stamp from Sunday International using a Versamagic Teardrop in Pixie Dust. The hearts are Quickutz and the flowers are punched.

Wild and Windy!!!

I have to admit to being a Winter person, a bit of a snuggler so today has been absolute bliss for me.......thrashing down with rain, a good old wind whistling round the corners and the fire lit for the first time in weeks.
I have been snuggled up in my workroom and had such a peaceful, quiet afternoon with everyone either out or in bed. Just had to get tea for DD and myself so we were really naughty and had sausage and chips which were just gorgeous.
Was doing work which had to be done rather than stuff I wanted to do so I have made six wedding cards and have made some new girly birthday cards like the one up yonder. I made them to make a start on using up some of the diecuts I have done which seem to be staging a takeover bid.
The perfume bottles have been cut from some frosted plastic packaging and the labels I made on the computer. I've done them in lilac and pink and have made 18 of them so that has also made a start on using up some pearlised card that I have had forever........probably about 3 years really.
Doing this has helped a bit with the guilt from my little trip to Craft Central yesterday. I went with a list and was adamant that all I wanted was some sequin waste (to have a go at the fab effect Gillian Hamilton showed us this week on her blog) and some biggish paint brushes. So why then did I come back with 2 stamps, 2 packs of chipboard diecuts, 1 Quickutz die, 1 Thin Cuts die, a pack of Cuttlebug embossing folders plus five paintbrushes and two packs of sequin waste. Honestly I am just not fit to be let out with money in my purse. Aw well somebody has to help keep the craft industry going......lol!!!

I'm just going to put away all the girly stuff now and have a sort out in my technique drawer which is overflowing and see if I can use some things up out of there before I go to bed. Must go a bit earlier tonight as I am at work tomorrow.

Technique Thursday-Transparencies

I thought I would give the challenge over at http://tech-thurs.blogspot.com/ a go this morning and this is my effort for Transparencies.
It's funny where you get the inspiration from for different projects and the inspiration for this card came from my DS's trip to Alton Towers yesterday where his girlfriend took him for his birthday.
We live not too far from Alton Towers and took the children there regularly when they were younger and my most abiding memory is the queues for everything and the blue skies on the days we went as we were always lucky in choosing lovely sunny days.

So I have started with one of my silver mirror card backgrounds with crumpled tissue and I have coloured this with a selection of blue Adirondack inks. Once they were dry I grunged over the whole piece with a Moonlight White Brilliance ink pad.
The two stamps I used on the lefthand side I just picked up from Craft Central this morning. They are both Anita's surprisingly enough. They were stamped in Midnight Blue Stazon.
The ticket border is a Tim Holtz stamp and I have used Moonlight White Brilliance to stamp it onto a strip of overhead projection film which I then wrapped around the background and fixed at the back with DST.
The arrows have been cut on Jiminy Cricut and embellished with white gel pen.
The chipboard letter is from a tin of assorted letters by K&Co, I sanded off the original pattern and coloured it with various blue Versamagic Teardrop ink pads and then overstamped with one of the background stamps in Midnight Blue Stazon.
When the card is standing the OHP strip bows away from the card slightly which gives it a bit of extra dimension.

Daring Cardmakers-Packaging

Everything we buy has packaging, some of it excessive, some of it beautifully designed. Tags, labels, stickers... all sorts of bits and bobs that we can recycle onto cards.I dare you to make a card using a tag, label, sticker or anything else you can find, thats from packaging and would normally end up in the bin. Of course you can ink it, change it, distress it and add anything else you like!If you're feeling brave, I DOUBLE DARE you to make it a card for a man.

OK.......that is Rhi's dare for this week..........remind me to have words with that young lady later...........lol!!!
After scouring the house for something suitable to use I found something sitting not six inches away from where I first started. A shoe box which had contained my daughter's new work boots.
Striped paper is from the DCWV Black and White Stack coloured with Adirondack inks in Red Pepper and Cranberry then grunged with a black Stazon ink pad.
Extreme Boy is a cheapo stamp I picked up and Walk Tall has been stamped using an alphabet set and then I went over it with a white gel pen.
The Grafters panel is from the shoe box. Sanded and grunged with a star brad added for embellishment.
The boot panel is from the box. Coloured with Adirondack inks again and grunged. I then used white gel pen around the image.
Final touch is two plain silver Fastenater staples.
What a fab challenge Rhi and I am so pleased that I managed the Double Dare.

Fine Feathers

Here is the latest card made with one of the new TandaStamps Retro Women sets.
Isn't this just the most gorgeous image?
I have used it in conjunction with the TandaStamps Backgrounds Set 1.
The lace has been stamped in black Stazon and then painted over with Opalite Re-inker in Nordic Ice. Once that was dry I dragged over it with an Opalite ink pad in Cypress Frost and also used this to add a slight sheen to the stamped music. I then buffed it with a piece of cotton wool to remove some of the moisture and hasten the drying time.
I have cut around the stamped images to give an interesting outline to the background and then edged it with a gold pen.
The feather and the face were then stamped onto a piece of smooth cream card and coloured with various brush markers. The feathers were then brushed with Opalite in the two colours used previously and I used Opalite Crystal Blush to colour the lips on the face as they stamp solid black.
The images were cut out and the feathers were 'feathered' with a pair of sharp pointed scissors, arranged in the ladys' hair and embellished with tiny crystals.
The buttons were plain turquoise so I covered them with Opalite and Crystal embossing powder and heated. These were attached with Glossy Accents.
Once again the scan doesn't do this justice and it looks much better IRL as you can imagine if you have ever used Opalite inks.

I had the most wonderful surprise today. I met a lovely lady called Rosie when I was down in Devon and today I received the most gorgeous piece of altered art from her.
A beautiful frame with stamped glass on a theme of Time. I have tried to scan it but it didn't look right so I am going to get DD to give me a quick lesson with the digital camera later and take a pic for you to see.
I love it so much and I will treasure it forever.

Well I need to go and get some sleep I think as I am feeling pretty whacked now and have a horrible feeling that I have an ear infection starting.....I could soooo do without that right now. Hopefully I am wrong and I'll be fine when I wake up.

In The Pink!!!

I am really liking these bathroom scenes on the new TandaStamps set. They are so different and make lovely girly cards.
Here I have masked off stripes and stamped various images from the sets in the top middle and bottom stripes and then used a paintbrush handle for the small dots and a pen top for the bubbles. I've used the scallop circle again and this time added an organza bow.

It's funny but here it looks like the bottom sections are a bit wonky but IRL they are perfectly straight.
This would also look great done on powder blue or a mint green card so I shall have to have a look in my stash and see what I have.

I am blogging very early today as I have a pile of ironing needing attention so must get it done. Once I've had enough though I shall be back playing.

New TandaStamps Retro Women Sets!!!

How excited was I to receive my sample sets of the new TandaStamps Retro Women 3 & 4 on Saturday morning? Erm....well very excited actually.

These two sets are just absolutely stunning and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday just dying to have a session with them but had other more pressing jobs to get done first so didn't get time to play until the early hours of this morning.

These are the two cards I managed to make before my eyelids got to needing matchsticks to keep them open.

The first one I made was the Scottish card. It looks very dark but it's not a very good scan. The Windows Photo Gallery programme doesn't have the fine tuning that my previous programme had.

I really love this stamp. I'm not totally sure she is a Scottish lass but that was the first thing I thought when I saw it. The colour scheme is navy blue and green so I stamped the image in Midnight Blue Stazon and coloured with Marvy Le Plumes. Her jacket was coloured with white gel pen.

The bathroom card is my favourite as a finished card as I love the colours of the background paper.....Celebrate Beads Green by American Traditional Designs.

I only bought it on Friday and had no particular use in mind for it but I think it just goes so well with this image.

I used a mega punch to punch the scallop circle and a Sizzix die for the cream circle. Stamoed the image and coloured with Marvy's and a water brush. The detail around the edge was added with a fine tipped drawing pen.

The bubbles were made using clear bubble stickers.

There are lots more stamps to use yet so I will be having another session later today when I have had some sleep.

Daring Cardmakers-Embossing No 2

I thought I would have another go at this challenge and do something a bit brighter and this is what I came up with. I am disappointed with the scan because the green background is so much nicer IRL being more acid than it looks here. Oh well never mind.
So I started off with a piece of A6 plain smooth card and coloured it with pigment inks from a Colorbox Paintbox starting with a dark at the bottom and going lighter as I worked up the card. The image was then stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.
I added Crystal embossing powder starting at the womans' shoulder and working down in a diagonal line to her feet and then added clear embossing powder to the top half and heated. I then trimmed the image saving the strips that were Crystal embossed to use as an embellishment.
Added a layer of Versamark ink all over and then clear embossing powder to smooth out the finish.
The flowers are die cut from the Poundland chopping boards I bought the other week and I punched a hole with the Crop-A-Dile, covered with Versamark ink and then embossed with Crystal embossing powder and attached with star shaped brads. I positioned the flowers loose, marked where the holes needed to be and punched the holes with CAD.
The background is Bazill in two shades of acid green and I embellished with pieces of the strips leftover from trimming the image.

Daring Cardmakers-Embossing

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week.....set by Lythan.....is to use any type of embossing. I thought that as I stamp all the time I really ought to challenge myself to do some dry embossing but I really don't like doing it so don't have much in the way of stencils to do it with. Knocked that idea on the head then.
I have gone instead for an embossed background using a Cuttlebug folder and some dark card.
The BG has been skimmed over with a Brilliance Moonlight White ink pad and once dry it has been covered with Versamark ink and embossed using a standard clear embossing powder. I did two layers of that.
With it being ordinary cardstock it did curl quite a bit so I have used carpet tape to layer it onto a piece of very stiff backing card.
The medallion is a TandaStamps medieval image which has been stamped onto mountboard, coloured with Adirondack and triple embossed using a coarse powder.
Very simply matted onto a red card blank which IRL is a much nicer colour than the scan.

Repose

Here is my second beautiful new stamp from Hampton Art.
This one is called Repose.
I have stamped her three times and all the colouring is done with Versamagic and other various chalk ink pads which I patted onto a piece of plastic and then picked up with a water brush.
Some areas have been embellished with gold gel pen and then I cut and layered her using 1mm foam tape as I didn't want too deep a decoupaged look.
I've got lots more ideas for using this one with some new mediums I have recently bought so hopefully I will get some time over the weekend to have a go with those.
Looking at the finished piece on screen I think I may add some ribbon or something down the side.

Well I had quite a busy day today with two ladies in for an all day workshop. It was very enjoyable but I came home absolutely shattered and fell asleep after tea. I think it must be the heat making me so tired as even though it has rained all day it is still very muggy.
I have to work at the shop tomorrow as we have a group of ladies from a craft group coming for a lesson. The extra money will come in useful for something I have my eye on that I am trying to convince myself I need but then I really should be good and save it as the boss was doing an order for Elusive Images today and I have asked for a load of Stampboard and the inks to go with it. I will never be rich will I?

Right I am off for a cuppa and then I might start a new book as I finished the other one tonight. If anyone fancies a good read it was Lake Of Sorrows by Erin Hart. A murder/mystery set in the peat bogs of Ireland at an archaelogical site where recent murders are being made to look like ancient sacrificial murders. It is a fabulous book and had me on the edge of my seat at times..........or at least I would have been on the edge of my seat if I hadn't been reading in the bath........lol!!!

A Wet Old Wednesday!!!

I don't suppose everyone was thrilled but I for one was glad to see the rain today.
It's just so nice to stand out and see the garden looking all fresh and sparkly with raindrops. It didn't cool things down much though unfortunately and I am not enjoying the heat at all.

I caught up with so many jobs today that I am quite chuffed with myself. Had an order for an Ordination card for Saturday and it's done plus I bit the bullet and made some wedding cards for the shop.......now that is pure torture to me as I hate making wedding cards. Got all the class packs ready for tomorrow and got all outstanding parcels and correspondence sorted and it is still only 1:45am..........lol!!!
I could do another couple of hours if I put my mind to it but I am eager to read a bit more of my new book so am having an early night.

I did manage a quick play with one of my new Hampton Art stamps. This one is called Pearls and Plumes. I think it is just gorgeous.
I just did a very simple card. The dark background is another piece of the nasty silver mirror card I had covered with crumpled tissue and coloured with inks from the Rueberry Adirondack four colour pad. I then used the same inks with my water brush to colour the image.
I cut slightly away from the stamped frame to make a wider frame and then removed the background from the stamped image and layered it onto a piece of striped paper from the Hannah range by K&Co.
The frame has been attached with double sided tape and then I just put a foam pad under the head to raise it a little which looks quite effective if you want some depth without having to stamp multiple images to decoupage.
I have another stamp called Repose which I shall try and have a play with tomorrow.

I just knew Simon would win The Apprentice even though I was rooting for Christina. I found him so annoying but I can see Sir Alans point in employing him. I have to say that I am awfully glad that his building won't actually get built....it was hideous.
Can't wait for the next one now......I am well and truly hooked.

Well my book calls so I am off to have a read and a cup of coffee.

Daring Cardmakers-Celestial

At last I have had time and been pain free for long enough to sit and make a card for the Celestial challenge over at Daring Cardmakers. This would also do for the previous weeks challenge of using something see through but I will be good and make something else for that one.
The stars and wording have been stamped onto plain white card and then inked over with colour from a Big and Juicy ink pad called Waterfall.
The translucent star hanging on the front is die cut from a chopping mat which was one of a set of four I bought from Poundland. The set has blue, pink, yellow and green in it and die cuts beautifully with Sizzix dies. I wasn't quite so successful with the Thick Cuts die I used and neither Sizzlits or Thin Cuts would go through it. Not sure about Cuttlebug dies as I don't have any yet.

Well I can't believe how chilly it's been here today after the heat of yesterday. Mind you at my age chilly is good........lol!!!
I ought to have gone out in the garden while it was cool enough to work comfortably but I thought perhaps I had better not. My back doesn't hurt so much now but didn't want to risk setting myself back.

I'm off to look at what everybody did for the Celestial challenge now as I haven't even had time to have a browse yet.

Just A Quickie!!!

Just posting this quickie card tonight which I made a few days ago as I haven't been able to make any cards today. I've had an ache in my back for a couple of days which suddenly got worse and I am hobbling about like a Goblin. I can't sit for long and it hurts to lie down so I am wandering round trying to keep myself occupied by doing stupid things like dusting everything that can be dusted without bending too much. I've had a nice warm bath and it has eased quite a bit since then but I am trying to be careful as I had some serious back trouble in the past and I ain't going there again.

I am almost embarrased to tell you how simple this card is. All it is, is a chalked background which has been overstamped in Stazon and that's it. Isn't the colour lovely though. I thought the chalk was green but it came out this lovely Teal Blue shade which I think really suits the images from the TandaStamps Far East Set 3.

If I am able to sit tomorrow I want to catch up with all the Daring Cardmakers challenges that I have missed and finish putting together the package for Ros who won the Blog Candy draw. I might also go for a ride out with DD if I am able.
Hubby is planning a BBQ......heaven help me innards......lol!!! I am hoping for rain.........just on my back garden will do though.......ha ha ha!!!

Up To Date With Orders......Yay!!!

Goody, goody.......now perhaps I can play a bit.......well once I have posted a couple of outstanding parcels and maybe cleaned my desks off to make room to work.

For the music card I have had to resort to peeloffs for the guitar and some of the music bits as I do not own one single instrument stamp. I do have a couple of musical score stamps though so I was able to stamp the background paper. Added a little chalk and Bob's your Aunty. The chip board circle is mountboard from my cutting session the other week covered in white paper and the circular greeting was a free stamp from a magazine.

Doesn't look so good on the scan but IRL it looks pretty smart so I hope my customer will like it.

The music score background is from the TandaStamps Backgrounds Set 1.

The Celtic card was pretty easy to do as I have a few stamps by Rubbadubbadoo. I've coloured some card with Adirondacks in Butterscotch, Bottle and Denim. I then stamped the tree of life down the side and added highlights with a white crayon and then a little white gel pen.
The Celtic knot has been stamped with Stazon and embellished with dots in white gel pen.
I found the Irish translation for Happy Birthday on the internet and then typed it up in a font called Celtic Gaelige which luckily I had in my font files. A very simple card I love the strong colour.
ROFL........ I just noticed I missed a small section of dots....must put that right before it gets delivered........lol!!!

Had a good day at the shop today as the boss opened a new set of Elusive Image stamps for me to play with for the morning. We didn't have a class until the afternoon.
The set is six backgrounds in squares........fell in love with them and had to buy them......what more can I say. They will be so useful as there is a good mix of styles including a mosaic tile effect, swirls, bubbles and lines, flowers, foliage and a wood effect. I'm getting a few ideas together for those.
Still no Cuttlebug. I've a good mind to book a flight on the first plane to Holland and go fetch it myself.......well I would if I wasn't so scared of flying.......lol!!!
Got some more storage boxes in the hope of sorting myself out.....ha blooming ha!!!
If I ever get this room anywhere near organised I shall fall over in shock. Maybe I should accept that I am untidy and just get on with it.....or at least until something falls on my head anyway.

It's stock up day at the local shop today so I had best go and sort the cards out that are going down and get the paperwork ready.

I Wanna Cut My Tongue Out!!!

What a strange title for a blog post I can hear you all saying.....lol!!! But as I seem to be unable to say the word 'NO' that is the only action that I can see that will stop me taking on commissions for cards that are just not in my line at all.
It seems when you make handmade cards that people think you can conjour up miracles and ask for the strangest and in some cases very specialised designs which is something I don't do. I tend to steer clear of doing things like football teams as I design cards I don't just buy stuff to put on cards. I did end up doing a football card the other week as a second choice of subject because the first one I couldn't find anything to make a card with on the subject of horse racing.
So anyway yesterday evening I get a call............ could I make two cards for a 50th birthday for Friday. Yes fine says I. Man or woman? Colour etc, etc. A man and he likes Celtic designs and can you do one with the green man on...........yeah......I'll just nip out and buy a sheet of green man peeloffs......lol!!!
Now thankfully I do have a passing interest in all things Pagan/Wicca etc so I did to some extent know where I was going with this one but it has taken me a whole day to come up with this design which has annoyed me as I had plans for some work I wanted to get done to get on top of things and I still have to do the Celtic card plus another order for Friday.
Next time I get a call for something odd would you all please shout 'Oi Sheila....NO!!
Anyway...that's the card I ended up with......up there. Quite chuffed with it as the green man is hand drawn and shaded. I then overstamped with a leaf stamp using Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. The leaf embossing on the green background is done with a Fiskars texture plate which I then cut to shape and edged with gold Krylon pen.
The larger background is a piece of printed vellum I found in my box and the shape has been marked out with a ruler and a circle shape. The inspiration for that came from those wall fountains you can get with lion heads on.

Well I will go and make a start on the Celtic card now which will be a breeze after that one as I do have some stamps on just that theme luckily. After that there is a 60th birthday with a red guitar........another example of my inability to say NO.......lol!!!

The Other Half!!!

The cards I'm posting tonight are the other half of the projects that were published in Craft Stamper.

Once again they are done with the TandaStamps Retro Women stamps......how I love those two sets!!!

The first card is called 'A Musical Evening' and is made to look like a programme along with tickets. The inspiration for that one came from the sheet of background paper which I found in a Paper Journeys 6 x 6 pad.

The second card.....and my most favourite, is a representation of a magazine cover complete with issue date and number. The scrummy lettering is done with my My Sentiments Exactly Retro Alphabets and Numbers which cost me an arm and a leg but I love them sooooooooo much.

As hubby was going to a works presentation evening this evening and didn't need feeding, DD and I decided to go for a ride out and treat ourselves to tea. We popped over to Derby Garden Centre and had the most gorgeous sandwiches with a bowl of salad from the salad bar and then nipped into Craft Central. I found a stamp I have been looking for for ages so I well pleased about that. It's a Creative Expressions stamp of an Oriental lady with a fan inside a circle. Can't wait to have a play with that.
Didn't buy anything else too exciting from there but on the way out I decided that I wanted a pair of gardening clogs to wear instead of wellingtons. So I had a look at the green ones which were pretty boring and decided I'd leave them for the time being and then I saw them........a pair of bright pink gardening clogs!!! Well I just had to have them.......they are soooooo cool..........and this is the woman who hates anything pink........lol!!! They do make rather odd noises as you walk in them so it's a good job I shan't be wearing them out anywhere.
When we left there we called at the supermarket and DD bought me a dinky little bucket in bright pink with bumble bees on..........it is very cute, but looking at the weeds in our garden I don't think it will hold much so I have it on my desk for putting all my bits of rubbish in.

Well I have a class tomorrow which is on using chalks so I think I am going to design a couple of new cards for it. It has been a pretty popular class for the last few weeks but you do get fed up of doing the same cards all the time so I shall do something new.
I hope the order with the Cuttlebugs comes tomorrow. It seems to have been ages since they were ordered. Knowing my luck they will be out of stock but hopefully I'll get my Cricut cartridge.....Fabulous Finds.

Right......a quick tidy of my desk and then I had best get chalking.

Sizzling Stockport

I had such a fab time in Stockport yesterday. The class went really well and the ladies were just so lovely. I came home completely shattered and have done nothing but sleep since I got back which is why I am a bit late blogging this.

The house where I did the class was in such an amazing spot with the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. And after seeing the view from the kitchen window I know that if I lived there I would spend my life washing up just to be able to look out of the window. On a sunny day it was awesome enough but I would love to see it in the snow.

That was my last engagement for a while. I am ready for a little break to have a play with some new techniques and stuff and to catch up with some urgent jobs in the house and garden.

The cards I have posted for you today are half of the article published in Craft Stamper magazine. A gift set using the TandaStamps Retro Women 1 set. I think these stamps are such fun for making girly cards. The set consists of a gift bag made from a manilla envelope, a card made to look like a hosiery shade chart and an altered coaster to pop into the gift bag.

I am about to do another set like like this as a workshop for the shop.

I'll post the other half of the article tomorrow as it is completely different and I think they look better posted as sets.

I am just putting away all of my kit from yesterday and wondering why it won't all fit back where it came from........getting meself in a right tiswas I am so the big clearout is going to have to be soon methinks to make some room in here.

Just want to say thanks so much to Rachel for the lovely message last night and also to let you know that I thought the work you did yesterday was fab.

She is a newbie at stamping and cardmaking but I tell you what..........she is a natural and has a wonderful colour sense.

Well it's been a bit hot and sticky here today with lots of nasty little black beetles flying around so I am off to soak in a cool bath in a minute and then I am going to laze about in the least amount of clothes I can decently get away with and watch TV all night for a change.

Having said that I will probably be bored after a couple of hours and be back in my room doing something......lol!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

3am and I expect all good people are tucked up in their beds where they should be.
Me.........I am packing all my stuff away for Saturday, ticking lists and ticking lists about lists. Hoping to have everything done by about 10am and then I can just spend the rest of the day messing about and making a start on my sort out.
Can't believe how nervous I am. I've never done a private class at somebody's house before but I am sure that on the day it will all be fine.

Very disappointed that the order containing my Cuttlebug and new cartridge for Jiminy didn't come today. I bet it will come tomorrow and I won't be at the shop......Sod's Law innit? Still it did mean that I came away today with my wages nearly untouched. Just had to buy a couple of things for Saturday....some glue sticks and a spare brayer.

The brayer is for the card up yonder which is going to be one of the class cards. Three techniques on one card so although it looks pretty simple it is quite work intensive in a class situation especially as tools and materials have to be shared.
The background is a wax paper resist which I think looks just like crushed velvet with the Denim Adirondack brayered over it. The small flourish background is chalked and the lady has been coloured using chalks with a blender pen.
You will not be surprised to know that I am doing a Bondaweb technique......lol!!! Then I am also doing the floorwax technique and if there is time a card using H20's.

I wish DD was taking me up as she is so good at helping out. Unfortunately she is on a nine night, night shift this week so will be in bed. Hubby is taking me and then going on to a classic car show at Tatton Park so thankfully he will be occupied for the day. When I did a demo down in Aldershot last year the poor fella spent all day wandering round the town until it was time to pack up and go home. At times like that I do wish that I had taken my driving test...........luckily for the world at large that wish is only fleeting and I spend the rest of the time thanking God that I don't drive.

Well best get back to work. Not that much left to do now really .
